I actually just finished with making this today and figured why not share it with the new gaming forum I just joined?
It's my second most used handheld other than my 3DS (Mainly due to the DS having so much versatility in the games it can play) but it still gets a lot of use.
Warning Large-ish pics in spoiler!

Not my orginal one as I wouldn't dare to open it other than for cleaning, but still quite dear to me. The frontlight is from my broken GBASP, the switch hotglued to the top changes the speed of the GBC from its standard to variable which is controlled via the dial. Also there is a new, smaller speaker behind it you can see in the 3rd photo.
Wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in seeing this, but I have to say: The mods along with my flash card let me play patched ROMs in the dark... And I can even slow down that pesky Tetris with my dial. B-)

So which one is getting worse battery life?
The 3DS unfortunately. I can usually get 4-5 hrs out of it compared to this GBC which can get around 7-8. Oddly enough the mods don't eat up the battery life. :P

That is nice! Not the most visually pleasing mod out there, but that is pretty cool and unique.
That is a mod that actually make having a gbc fun nowadays.

That's amazing. I really like that rubber case for it, too.
Thanks! It was something I found at a yard sale while looking for some carts to play on it. To quote a guy on Kitsch-Bent "It's the BDSM boy!"

Hey hey hey! It is SO visually pleasing! :P
It really is fun to play with though. When I crank it down to half speed its definitely for Super Stoner Bros.

Trust me you don't need so much expertise as much as a steady hand and the diligence to look up how electronics work. :P
And I can! ...I'll do that tomorrow though...procrastination ftw!
EDIT: Also where did you buy the GB Flashcard?
I got it from http://store.kitsch-bent.com/ Its an EMS
Really Really awesome place to buy mods and such. Probably my favorite.

I gotta say that's pretty awesome. Natural light fails to do justice for the colours rendered by the GBC, and having a backlit screen makes a big difference.

Thanks, but the funny thing is, I think I may like the natural light more on my non-frontlit one. This just allows me to play it in the dark which is a major plus.
Also its not a big mistake, but its frontlit, not backlit. You can't backlight a GBC easily! :P (though it would be nice if you could!)

My mistake, I got confused with the AGS-100 and AGS-101 models.

Perhaps it's the geographical region then. Here in the tropics, sunlight is so strong it's glaring, and that makes it terrible for natural light GBA gaming
