Planning on getting a PSP to play the multitude of games I've missed (PEACEWALKER).

I don't know whether to get a PSP Go or a 3000. I like the Go's sleek design but the 3000 does have a bigger screen.

It should be easily hackable although from what I hear, you can hack pretty much all PSPs. So which one should I get?

I suggest trying out each model and buy the one that feels the most comfortable.

Than take into account the storage argument, the Go has 16GB internal memory which is certainly very nice whilst with the 3K, you have to buy a memory stick.

I know this is probably a dumb question, but have you considered PS Vita? Aside from that:

Pros of the Sony PSP Go Over the 3000

1) Internal Storage:

The PSP Go has done away with discs, and instead uses an internal memory to store any games downloaded from the Playstation store. This new method of storage may be seen as more convenient than discs, allowing users to download whenever they want and not have to worry about where to keep the discs – and memory can be extended if it ever fills up. This is particularly useful for those who have never owned a PSP in the past and, therefore, don’t need to worry about what to do with their old format games.

2) Game Download:

The ease of downloading games is also a major advantage of the PSP Go – they can be downloaded from the PSP itself, by connecting the PSP to a Playstation 3, or by using a PC or Mac.

3) Bluetooth:

The PSP Go also comes with the advantage of new inbuilt Bluetooth functions. This allows the Go to connect to a number of Bluetooth devices, including controllers and speakers, which can help to improve the gaming experience.

4) New Design:

The Go comes with a new slider design to help make it more portable. It is 43% smaller, which could be a major selling point for those who found the PSP 3000 wasn’t portable enough. It is also 15% lighter than other PSP models.

Pros of the Sony PSP 300 Over the PSP Go

1) UMD Slot:

For those who are already into PSP gaming, the fact that the newer PSP Go is missing a UMD slot may be seen as a drawback – meaning that UMD titles will no longer be playable on the Go version. However, downloadable versions of older games are becoming more available all the time.

2) Cost:

The PSP Go, being a newer version, costs more than the PSP 3000. For those who already own a PSP 3000, or are watching their budget, there would be little reason to spend the extra and buy a PSP Go unless you specifically wanted newer features, such as Bluetooth.

3) Size:

While the PSP Go is more portable, it is also more clumsy for people with big hands.

The Vita is much more expensive, isn't hackable and doesn't have every PSP game available on PSN (BBS).

...No need to copy-paste an entire article. I was hoping for people that have actually tried one of the systems to comment.

I was in a similar situation a while ago. I ended up getting the Go (partly due to a sale on amazon).

The screen isn't an issue for me at all, it's a tad larger than the top screen of a 3DS for comparsion. As long as you can find one at a decent price get a Go otherwise I'd suggest the 3000. The Go also allows you to overcome all the crap with memory sticks which from what I've read can be a hassle when it comes to piracy.

Having owned both a Go and a 3000, I would recommend the Go, if you're gonna pirate.

The 16 GB of internal storage is extremely convenient (I had 3 memory sticks for my 3000 at one point ._.), and it looks a bit nicer to me. The screen size isn't an issue either, like The Pi said, it's slightly bigger than the 3DS's top screen.

Of course, if you get the chance, try both. :)

PSP Go is easily portable, have a good quality screen,
everything in terms of hacking that works on 3000 works on Go
It's 16GB are very handful, and works like a charm with bluetooth earphones.

I trully recommend you to buying a PSP Go

I tried both models and from my personal experience, the Go has the nicer screen(but small), Bluetooth and internal storage as a plus, but if your hands are big, don't bother. I got used to it, but it's VERY uncomfortable to play your games with.. The Go gives me cramps all the time which makes gaming almost impossible.

PSP 3000 bigger screen, but doesn't have the internal storage or the Bluetooth the Go has however, comfortability, it beats the Go by miles. The

Pick your choice :)

I'm facing the same choice. Prices are the same as I'm buying used ($90).
What I want to know is:
1. Is the analog stick location on the Go comfortable?
2. Does the screen being 4:3 instead of 16:9 make a difference?

The bevel/glass thing isn't entirely the screen, the bar at the bottom isn't part of the screen so the screen is still widescreen.
