I think the original post is probably misworded, but taken literally, you could get 4 black & white gameboys for around $25 each on ebay

a gameboy four player adapter for $5-20

the link cables are about $2 on ebay if those things don't come with enough

I'm fairly portable, and though usually confined to 2 players, I am not unwilling to attempt a 4 player game.

I fell off my chair and hit my head on a table thanks to you.

Since everyone's already playing off this..

Besides modding a console which will probably cost more then 100 to make it portable you don't have many options. Good luck with that.

Thanks. I'll check it out.

Dunno the price, but during finals week in highschool my friend would bring in his Gamecube, some controllers, the AC adapter, and a portable LCD screen designed specifically to fit on top of the Gamecube, and we'd play Smash Bros and Bomberman. It required a wall outlet, sure, but it worked.

On that note, you can do something similar with the original Playstation. I know it comes with a screen specifically designed for that, I even remember hooking it up in a car when I was a kid and playing a game on it that way. The issue is that the Playstation only supports two players standard and you need the extension four four plays. But it's probably not hard to ghetto-rig the extension to the Playstation itself via the magic of duct tape.

Well he could mod the console to make it portable but it would cost more then 100 for a gamecube portable.
