Would you guys stop talking about a program that bricks your Wii already? Sheesh if that's a joke I don't get it, to my ears that's like joking about cancer :(
the idea of the joke app would restore your console to manufacture settings whilst keeping your saves intact, but it would block your console from using any exploits at all. Any use of trying to run any exploit on the console would come up with a message saying something like:
"An Error Has Occurred.
Please Remove The SD Card From The Front Slot and Turn Off The Wii Console."

Quoting a new development I made a new thread about:
Just noticed this; as seen in the following vid:

It says "SNEEK+DI" at the top (at 0:10). Not "UNEEK+DI". So what the heck does this mean?

why does anyone pay any attention to Anon? uneek wouldn't be required in the least as it's not going to care where the nand is located (sd/usb) when you launch the game. sneek just means that he's using his sd for his nand. that nand contains his DM that then does the loading from usb.

congrats on trying to drum up more drama without an ounce of clue

I just hope crediar gets a fekkin haircut and some new togs with his donations , as he looks a complete pleb in his photos. :) hurry up wiiu.

Also on the topic of creating apps for the Wii, I always wanted an app that allows you to delete the history messages from your Wii, they take up space that when piled up can be used for save files or Wiiware and VC!
No they don't. They are stored inside a system menu file which is always the same size even if you have no message history at all.
Are you certain? I read somewhere here in gbatemp "forgot what the topic was about" that they do in fact take up space but only slowly but within like 6 years they'll eat up your Wii memory, please tell me this isn't true and I'm just worried at nothing!

that isn't true and you're just worried at nothing!

All the message board content is stored inside a file that never changes size. When it gets close to full the system menu asks if you want to either delete old messages or move them to the SD card.

tuedj Thank you for clearing that for me, if you say so I'll take your word for it ^^ I worried for nothing I guess!

A NGC controller works just like a Classic Controller, but it feels like a Snes controller with analogue sticks and two sets of shoulder buttons (Just like a PSX/PS2 controller).

I don't blame crediar for not supporting the Classic Controller, as he most probably has an old launch Wii Console and prefers to play with the NGC controller more than the Classic Controller. Well... That's my theory, anyway.

If you want Classic Controller support, my advice is to either be patient and wait for devolution to be released or donate to have it added to DML (not excluding DM). It might persuade him... If enough people request it, especailly those who have a newer model without Memory Card slots and Controller Ports.

Actually the Classic Controller is ALMOST the same. The only difference is that the GameCube controller's L and R buttons are ANALOG and buttons when you push the all the way down (you can feel the "click" from analog to digital) not just buttons like the Classic Controller. Proof of this is in Super Mario Sunshine where you can hold the R button down half way to spray water while moving or hold it down all the way to stop moving and aim. Other than that you are correct. :)

But if you don't count the difference I noted, then the extra button could be used as a turbo/rapid fire button.

That explains it! Ever since Letterbomb came out I've been wondering why the mailbox read from the SD card. I always assumed that old messages were just automatically deleted once you ran out of space.

A feature that I'm sure will be removed from 4.4 for that very reason if Nintendo ever decides to release another firmware update.

E3 is around the corner and wouldn't be surprised, if they do it around that time or afterwards.

Although... There hasn't been a update for the Wii Console in a good while.
But... have Nintendo actually finally given up?

They're new "solution" is called "Wii U"
I don't think they would actually announce a system menu update at E3 unless it also contained some sort of special feature to entice people to update.

Oh, I doubt there will be an announcement of any sort about a possible update. In my honest opinion... we'll see it, when we least expect it... And that will be Nintendo's "Last Stand" before the Wii U is released.

You mean removing features which may be exploited rather than fix the bugs in their software while leaving the features as they were for all the people that were not 'abusing' them? This is nintendo we're talking about, not sony.

To be fair. That's pretty much what 4.3 was...

This was back on the main DML thread:
DIOS MIOS Booter
A Booter for Dios Mios Lite (and soon Dios Mios)

DM Booter (formerly DML Booter) which is created by Fix94, now has a google-code development site. It also, includes support (for the yet to be released) DIOS MIOS!

Downloads: here

Current Changelog (30/5/12):
r14:
-added option to switch to usb (+ on wiimote/X on gc controller) it will always read the first fat partition found
-added filter to only display gamecube games (before it also displayed sneek/uneek+di wii games)

r13:
-added possibility to mount first USB HDD FAT partition (still not activated)
-dont use version numbers but SVN revs instead
It's always a good sign when someone actually has enough information to be able to make a loader support it.
DM's real NAND fucntions are now officially BETA testable.
