Hello there,

i've searched for a while but i can only find info about DSTWO, seems nobody uses DSONEi anymore.

Well, i have a DSi with DSONEi and it works flawlessly (ok, Pokemon B/W freezes sometimes but whatever). I want to buy a 3DS and saw SuperCard released a new Firmware that makes DSONEi compatible with 3DS.

So i was wondering:
- Does someone use it and say if have any downsides compared to DSTWO ?
- Does it can play 3DS games (3DS roms) as DSi can with .NDS roms or not? (I think yes, but don't know about stability, support, etc)
- I've read that cards can't run in 3D mode, but can on 2D. It's true for it also?

As personal question, do you think it's worthy to buy a 3DS if you still have (and play) DSi and PSP?
And it's worthy to buy it if you can't buy any 3D cart yet? (I will be using the money to buy the console so i'll be broke for a time)

Thank you for your time and sorry any writing errors.

Best Regards.

Edit:
For those who search for same problems, here are the answers for the above questions:

- Does someone use it and say if have any downsides compared to DSTWO
"The only reason to upgrade to a DSTwo would be the built-in CPU, which is used for GBA emulation, playing videos, and doing some neat stuff like real-time saves (essentially save-states on the console)."

- Does it can play 3DS games (3DS roms) as DSi can with .NDS roms or not? (I think yes, but don't know about stability, support, etc)
"There is currently no way to play 3DS games besides buying the cart and putting it into a 3DS. Period."

- I've read that cards can't run in 3D mode, but can on 2D. It's true for it also?

It can't play 3DS roms and it can't play games in 3D.

Also, yes, a 3DS is worth it if you have a DSi and PSP, though I don't think there's much reason to own a DSi and a 3DS unless that DSi's an XL, but that's just me. DS games do look worse on the 3DS, though. They can look normal, but you have to sacrifice screen size.

Also, if you know that you are going to eventually going to buy a 3DS, then buying 3DS games beforehand is fine, and vice versa.

It cannot play 3DS ROMs, it can only play DS ROMs on the 3DS through the 3DS' compatibility mode that limits the console to the DS' capabilities.

If you can't afford to buy 3DS games then there's no reason to get the 3DS.

My DSi is just a normal version, Black. And i was trying to sell it to cover some price on games, but still couldn't find a buyer.

Thanks, i thought it would run 3DS roms as 2D mode but seems not. Does DSTWO (or other new cards) have same issue or is a specificity of dsonei?

By the way, 3DS games in my country range from $50~$110 if we use the currency conversor today. A 3DS itself is sold for $280~$350. Everything is really overpriced.
So, if i buy a 3DS today, the only use of it would be the same of my current DSi, since it only runs on DS mode and i can't buy a 3D game along.

I did asked because my PS3 Slim died and the company i sent to see what was the problem just formatted my HDD without asking me. Therefore i lost everything. They tried some deals but all of them were lame, so i asked for a discount on a new 3DS. They offered me one for $275 but i could use my Visa to pay divided in 3 months, that's why i was asking about 3DS.

By the way, thanks for the answers so far, really appreciate.

There is currently no way to play 3DS games besides buying the cart and putting it into a 3DS. Period.

From what you described, a 3DS would be worthless for you. If you want more DS action, maybe buy an extended DSi battery?

Thank you, i had this idea but after i saw some websites with downloadable 3ds roms, i got confused. So it seems they are just a dump archive for until some card runs the games. Or not. :P

I feel this way, it been worthless since it's main difference from DSi, of offering 3D games, would not be used until a later date.

To say the truth, the only thing that makes me want a 3DS at the moment is Pokemon Conquest, and see the 3D since none of my friends have it and i never saw the 3D "magic" without glasses.

Oh save-states.. That is really useful when i used to play FFTactics on GBA :)
*save state* *attacks with a low hit chance* *load if didn't hit or save if hit* lol

Well, other than save-states, there are no features that would make me want to upgrade. Videos and GBA i can watch/play on PSP with mp4 and gbSP kai.

Thanks for answers :)

Well, i think 3DS is not something that would add something for me atm. But i'm making some research if i can find it with lower price. If i don't find, i think i'll buy just to not lose the oportunity of buying at the most low price i can get at the moment.

DS games are never in 3D, regardless of if you're using a flashcart or otherwise. Pokemon Conquest is a 2D game, regardless of whether you're playing it on a DS or a 3DS. DS games are never, ever in 3D. Only 3DS games are in 3D, and 3DS games can only be played on a 3DS, and not on a DS. Ds games can be played on a 3DS, but they won't be in 3D. Remember, a 3DS is not a 3D DS, it's a 3DS, the sequel to the DS.

I thought it would be released as 3DS game, not as DS. Lol.
Sorry for my bad understanding :(

If you're interested, Devil Survivor 2, the sequel to Devil Survivor DS and 3DS (Overclocked, which is a remake of the DS version) is out for the DS, and it's pretty amazing.
