I think there should be a time limit for movies, after 3 months it should run free on the Internet if they run commercials on it they might even make more money then from dvd´s.
As for games they can use the same policies as for the resealing of used games, for example you have to register a game you bought on your psn account in order to have online capabilities for it.For old consoles games they shouldn't resell the games that you already owned and played, because a couple of years ago you helped them survive by buying their games.
And the music i cant understand what is wrong with making money from concerts.

This definition defines the very reason I don'tt want N to go totally download. It keeps them from giving us something, that we would have recieved before, the cartridge. We / well I bought cartridge AND game , not just the game. I want them both or drop the price drastically.. Basically Nintendo will be ripping US off by selling the games at the old price but by DEPRIVING us of the cartidge. THAT's Theft. That road travels both driections Nintendo. If you wanted thier definitions before you must stand by them now too N.

He who lives by the (s)word also dies by the (s)word. lol
Since when did Nintendo deprive you of anything? They're enabling digital distribution as an OPTION. AN OPTION. want me to spell that out for you? You can still buy the cartridge off of shops if you prefer retail, but you can also DOWNLOAD it, but only if you want to. They don't force it to you.

Even the third party publishers who chooses to go digital distribution only will be a boon, because by choosing digital distribution they don't need to cough up money for publishing physical cartridges and can release games without substantial investments. That means small-time indies who would like to develop for Nintendo platforms too.

Dafuq.

Chris Dodd was one of the most corrupt politician to ever serve in Congress. Now he is the head of one of the most corrupt origination to ever exist in this country.

Chris Dodd can F-OFF! I will pirate movies, just because Chris Dodd is the head of the MPAA.

I've seen a lot of debates about piracy devolve into an argument over whether or not it's theft, which is completely tangential and doesn't matter at all. I always saw it as a tactic for pro-piracy people to stall the argument/confuse the issue.

of course piracy isn't theft were you know like trying out the stuff we download and we'll probably buy it ( :creep:) later on

It's funny that anyone thinks that.

For every movie you pirate and watch, how many do you actually buy?
a lot..
For every great game that you pirate, how many do you buy?

wii games on the other hand half of them aren't worth buying the whole time i've had mine there's been only under a dozen games actually worth playing it's gimmicky controls were the cause of most of the games being bad.

I'm sorry but as a pirate I still acknowledge I hurt the industry.
An instance of piracy is not the same as a lost sale.

EDIT: To note, the below rant isn't aimed at you, it's just how I feel about the concept in general.

The logic most people use dictates "it must be so", but that doesn't make it so. I mean look at all the "it must be so" logic people have used throughout the years. Making a recipe for mice that involves tossing a dirty shirt into a pot of corn and leaving it? Well, they saw mice would appear in time, so they assumed they were literally creating mice out of shirts and corn, so "it must be so". Nowadays logic like that is laughed at, but years ago there we books with many such "recipes".

As far as actual studies and such have gone, I've never seen one that proves an instance of piracy is equal to a "lost sale". In fact I find the concept amusing. Is going over to a friend's house to watch a DVD they have a "lose sale" in the same vein, because you didn't buy the movie yourself?

And before any "you just think that way because you don't make your living off the entertainment industry"...

Also, some judges agree that stating an act of piracy is equal to a lost sale is incorrect as well.

But on the topic, it's just a definition, it doesn't make the process of pirating any better or worse. "Theft" and words relating to it just sound better for PSAs than "copyright infringement".
Yeah, it's still wrong.

My hatred for him extends beyond what many people on this web forum are aware of unless they are musicians themselves. Several years ago the MPAA went Gestapo on numerous US based music communities focused around guitar playing, they even went as far as to try and shut down websites like Ultimate Guitar which are based in Europe, all because they hosted interpretations of songs by non famous guitar players. Basically their whole notion was that numbers printed in sequences of 4 (bass) or 6 (guitar) lines to resemble the fret number string that you play a note, is tantamount to copyright infringement, even if the song has never been officially transcribed by a company like Hal Leonard. What's wrong with their whole logic is that none of these transcriptions had rhythm details, forcing you to figure out some parts of the song by actually listening to it, since strumming to a certain rhythm can't be notated using Word Pad or Note Pad.

So yeah, the MPAA pretty much destroyed over a dozen guitar communities based in the USA over the legal term of what a transcription is, it's such a joke.

Don't worry Rydian, he never said that it was equivalent to a lost sale. He was just acknowledging that it does in fact damage the industry. :)

Show me ANY store where I can buy a 3DS cart of every single eShop game, including the VC titles. There is NO OPTION when it comes to digital distribution. I can not go out and buy a 3DS cart containing Yoshis's Island or Mario vs Donkeykong...

The difference is you buy those products knowing you're not getting an actual cart.

The guy's rant seemed to indicate that upon purchase you would get a cart and then have it taken away somehow, which is why people are WTFing at his logic.

HOLY SHIT

Did they really say that?

Maybe this will shut up all the rednecks out there that insist Piracy is theft.

Ok, so...we're supposed to be happy? Now instead of suing a 12 year old for ungodly amounts of money on the grounds of theft, they will sue 12 year olds for ungodly amounts of money on the grounds of infringement. I mean the laws are still there, they're still suing people, and new laws to protect these "right holders" from "infringement" are being excreted from their respective political anuses. Word play does not amuse me.

They never took anybody to court for "theft" in the first place (they can't, it's not theft), it was always "copyright infringement" in the legal spheres.

It's outside of the courts that they went on their "theft" rampage.

Well now they're keeping up that disguise then.
