With the new Update 4.0.0.7 it is possible to patch games. OK, I think the patchs are sigital signd and so on, but can this be a method to hack the 3DS by creating a "Fake-Patch"

Edit: An other idea is, to "patch" the game like Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II by the GameCube. Old members know this method. You must install a Server on your computer and connect to it with Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II. The "Update" is a fake and started streaming a game you choose before.

No.
this isn't a 1 word post.

Actually, if ANYTHING, it will work the opposite way. (preventing hacks)

Edit: You will need an exploit for the 2nd idea (actually, you'd need an exploit for either) because it's more likely than not that Nintendo checks what's being downloaded now, with what we've seen with checksums and hashes I can't imagine they wouldn't check a downloaded "update" binary in any game. (these aren't the days of the gamecube anymore)

So with phantasy star and a PC program, I can play any game I want if i have the ISO?
Tell me more. I'm seriously interested.

That's great, except there is only hacked servers. You said something about a fake patch.

Here we go again... can someone explain to me why there is a hacking theory thread in the first place? 3ds hacking shouldn't even be allowed to be talked about ATM. there are way too many posts of people thinking they can do this and that to hack it, and half of the people have little to no knowledge on how the 3ds functions in the slightest before asking. it would say that people should read threads first that have already been made, but people obviously don't know how to read so they skip that part :/ half of these people ask questions that have been answered hundreds of times seeing these threads on the front page everyday is starting to kill my braincells... it kinda suxs cause i used to live in the hacking section, or lurk i should say... @OP why are you talking about a 3ds hacking theory, but referring to gamecube, which is a totally different plat? i am confused by your logic. enlighten me PLEASE. (srry i rant alot xD)

Well it's better logic to look at previous exploits rather than just make them up out of nothing at least... but yeah still it's silly. The patches are signed, just like everything else.. any code the 3DS runs is encrypted, integrity checked, probably encrypted again into another container; and all of it locked to a single system. So even if you magically bypassed it, it'll be fixed via update in no time and be useless anyway.

That's great, except you obviously didn't even check all of the links on the first page. The fifth link is an entire step by step tutorial on how to set it up, rip GC games to your PC, and network load them on the GC. Not quite a hacked server. I read it (again) last night before posting that link.

you see, THIS is an educated answer! its always better to research first before asking a question, i mean even when i was a 13 year old noob that knew NOTHING, i always researched before asking a question cause i didn't want to look stupid asking something that has already been answered already. it would be great if everyone read posts like these so that people would have basic understanding of what they are about to ask, but that will never happen. mods please close this thread before someone else comes and asks another uneducated question.

edit: i know, ill just what everyone calls a "Douchebag" and just say NOOOOOOOOOOO (rageface) without providing an explanation cause thats better. :/
