-.- yeah and I explained to you that "encrypted RAM" is just an expression. A way of saying "all the data in RAM is encrypted". How can you not comprehand that?
I know it's an expression you use and I comprehend it, all I'm saying is that it is inadequate and explain what is being discussed to people who may not know what we're talking about. ;)

on the whole "either all of none of the RAM is encrypted"... you can have some of it encrypted as well. I.E. the private key is stored encrypted in the RAM, and decrypted for use whenever it needs it. Obviously, the unencrypted will be stored into the RAM as well, but only temporarily.

It's an expression everybody uses. I didn't invent it.
Watch the console hacking 2006, where team twiizers and other hackers talked consoles and even back then you will see the expression used by reputable hackers.
If you don't like it fine. But you try to correct me, even though there is nothing to correct. Expressions are never a 100% accurate. That's what makes them expressions and not acurate descriptions. -.-

It's still going to be there in numerous chunks that nobody will be able to put together without knowing the algorithm, or in case of some algorithms, even if it will be known, as some introduce the element of randomness by using a generated random number.

And yeah, the discussion about what is encrypted in RAM has become quite tiring, let's just get over it.

Why would you want a flashcart over a softmod?
A flash cart would be the only way to play commercial games since the SD card slot is not as fast as the cartridge slot.
What about emulators for lower-tech systems (like NES, SNES, Genesis/MegaDrive, etc.)? Will that be possible with an SD card?

On a side note, I know that many people will tear me apart for saying this, since there are lots of people on GBATemp that support piracy, but I personally hope that it will remain impossible to pirate 3DS games. I really hope the 3DS won't become a sickening pirate-fest like what happened with the DS.

(oh and I don't consider emulations of really old systems as piracy)
GBA, NES, and Genesis can already run off of the SD slot. As 3DS VCware.

I dont want to pirate games at all actully. I just want to run linux, and some abandon ware.
I wouldn't mind running some homebrew either. I did read something interesting today.

Currently devkitPro is researching the feasibility of a branded flashcard without piracy features which should hopefully preserve our ability to create and share homebrew.

What if they managed to do this, then continued it on with the 3DS? We wouldn't be needing to jailbreak anymore. Or use AP circumvention methods.
Most people don't care about homebrew 99.9% want to pirate games
So you're not using Moonshell and whatnot on your DS? ;)
God kills an easter bunny for each person that doesn't use moonshell.

Linux on the 3DS wouldn't be a distro, it would be a basic shell with perhaps a Window Server (not Windows Server) tacked on to it. I don't think an existing one would work very well; devs would probably have to come up with a 3DS-optimized one.

What I would wish for, is a freaking video player. Damn that would be SO good. XD
Why do you think that? It's not like the screen is very big, nor that good considering quality. 3D movies I suppose, but you'd have to format them to work on the 3DS anyways. If I ever wanted to watch a movie on the go I'd just pull out my smartphone/PSP/PSVita.

Run linux on what?? the 3DS, if they can make it ubuntu possible on it im totally in for it!
There's no way the system can run something close to the modern desktop version. The 3DS only has 128MB of RAM, as one point.
the raspberrypi have done a 44mb ram linux distros for the raspberrypi. complete Desktop. writen for arm11 prosesor AND open source.

I don't really care about 3D movies. Just a good one. Besides, I don't have a smartphone or a PSP or a PSVita. Still, I would love to watch vids on it.
