Heh, this will definitely be in my library. I know it's not so unique now but, back when I played it on the GC, I was totally won over. As others said, the other iterations weren't so great. But, from reading all the features that were announced, I'm loving it already.

time to try and be back to semi active again(after a few months of innnactivity

anywho off topic. i really never saw what people liked about animal crossing. can anyone tell me what makes em good games? im serious.

You know how a lot of DS games had those tag modes, like Animal Crossing, Nintendogs and even Dragon Quest IV? As well as the C-gear functionality of Pokémon Black/White.
They never really amounted to anything because it meant having to leave the game on standby in sleep mode, which is a pain when you could actually be playing it instead.

Now that streetpass technology has been realized with being able to wirelessly communicate with complete ease (game cartridge doesn't even need to be loaded!), I'm actually very much looking forward to what kinds of benefits you could get by crossing paths with another Animal Crossing player.

Im considering picking up this game...I've played Animal Crossing since the gamecube. Though, like most agree, the GC verison was the best and I remember playing that day in and day out.....if they capture that and make it better (which seems to be the case) and go all out with the Wifi connectivity...I will be thoroughly impressed. Im actually interested to see how streetpass/spotpass will function in this game seeing those features would be prefect for Animal Crossing.

But regardless....Handheld Animal Crossing is awesome in its own rite

They better get creative with Mr. Resetti this time around. The home menu is quite a bit different from anything Nintendo has done before, namely the closing of software with the home menu and the power button!

Mr Resetti should rant at you through the home menu if you try to close the software without saving first!
They should totally do this, but I hope that his rants don't go too long. I quit once because of them.
But im definitely getting this game.

They should make it so you can play with people on CF or WW (Maybe).
Not gonna happen, no way.
Holding back a new game so it can interact with the old ones is daft, this isn't exactly like the pokémon games, it's about fresh starts.

Even more when there's features that probably wouldn't be possible over the two others. Swimming, Pants, and I'm sure that's only the bottom of the bucket (and that I'm probably forgetting more).

I absolutely cannot wait for this game, this is definitely my most wanted. It's just so chilled out, and I love the collectors side of it. I hope they do items that are only released in certain countries like they did in City Folk (with the Japanese/Korean/American & UK holiday specials). I'm afraid I don't have any further knowledge to add..apart from it's going to be amazing!

Super-excited for this game. I almost publicized my first working time machine... see you in the Summer, folks.

I want to want to get this game, but I also don't. I like the customization but lack of Miis hurts man. And while I as like the deep interaction. I hate thr fact I got to vist it atleast 3 or 4 times a week or else my town will turn into a wild field. I don't know... maybe if this city thing and they add stuff like NN compadiblity then I jump on it.

uhh...it will have Nintendo Network capabilities. That's how it will work through Wi-Fi. And in the GC original you could catch Wisp, the ghost, who could make your town completely free of weeds. I'm sure Mii's will also be an option, since they were in AC:CF. (Although IMO they look kinda ugly and don't really fit Animal Crossing)

Just today I was thinking about this game again...I really hope it comes out right at the end of school. I wanna play it all summer, but if I get it now my grades would suffer. ;)
Soon the 3DS should have an update that lets you buy packaged software, like PSN, right? I'd like to buy this as a game card, but I'd LOVE to buy it as a downloaded software on my 3DS. Even if I had to upgrade my SD card to fit it. (Although the original N64/GC one was ~20 MB, AC:WW was ~64MB, and AC:CF ~300MB. So I don't think it'd take up too much space, surprisingly.) I just think it'd be nice to be able to play this game without going to have to search for the game card. Or maybe it's that I'll want to have the ability to play my other 3DS games, cause if this wasn't downloadable I'd never take it out of the slot.

So yeah, I'm excited. A lot. This has potential, and I don't think Nintendo will screw it up.

OH really! Great if they put those wisps things in then I wont mind. Also the only reason I wish Miis were in it is because I perfer not having to half-way "beat" the game in order to be able to change my skin color (that annoyed the crap out of me in WW) also I do kinda wish there was some sort of community based game for Miis. But hey, someday.

Seeing as most 3DS games are 2GB, I don't think that'll be happening any time soon.
AC:CF ~300MB.
444 MB, to be exact.

More people than you think.
