CycloDS iEVO

Ugh, just lost my CycloDS account. And I can't reregister because it doesn't support gmail.

FUCK.
Really? Well that sucks for me if my old account is gone as I only have gmail

Anyone know if this has any extra RAM or will it run everything directly off the DSi hardware?

Nice, but since there is no apps (DSi wise), you are probably update the review once the bounty is over, aaaiight...??

eventually all reviews will be updated. when the ievo takes off a bit and homebrew is out for it, it will get a mention.

Why are they relying on people using their modified version of libnds?
libnds is on the same level as libwifi, they both should be completely rewritten from scratch to fix the inefficiencies and to give them the full functionality that's required in most homebrew. MenuDO had to use custom kernel support per-flashcard just to replace libnds.

If the CycloDS team are so great, what is the real reason they are not releasing a SDK?

Vapourware =! iEVO

People like you go around like menudo is so bloody great, Its anyones guess if it is indeed, But when people come looking for it you all get defensive and say one of the following things:
"It will be finished when it's finished"
"Only available to beta testers"
"We have to write some more stuff like a super installer so +1 month"
"We're adding a 4chan /b/ board viewer, +1 month"

The list goes on and on, Never gets released.
he was merely making one example of why cyclo should be less lazy
stop crying so much

I'm also receiving a review sample; not yet received.

I hope (some of) the functions that TC post are high up enough to add to DSGM. I would really like to bring those functions to my users.

I am definitely getting one. I still have a ds lite with a cyclods evolution working perfectly, but I will get a yellow DSi XL, I really like it. It will get along well with a black iEVO

I dont think this DSi feature adds anything at all ?
what are the upsides of having this, other than running 1 or 2 homebrew in DSi mode?

the card is a joke there no support for it
You're a joke. It's the only card that ever managed to even boot in DSi-Mode, it has no support because there was little interest in DSi features in the first place, especially now when everybody's busy cracking the 3DS. It used to work perfectly fine, now it's dedicated purely for homebrew due to lack of support. Still, it's one of its kind.

Don't be rude Foxi, there is no need to lit up fires especially here.

I do have to agree with Valwin here.
The whole DSi feature was just an advertising stunt, many fell for it and they're left with a regular, overpriced DS-only card without support.

The CycloDSi is a pretty terrible cart. It no longer has a team that supports it, isn't a viable cart for third party support, lacks a strong DSi based homebrew scene (which is the only thing that could have saved it), and costs too much for too little. The Supercard DSTwo has been, and will continue to be the reigning champ of flash carts.

You three are missing the whole point. Perhaps iEvo is a bad cart for all the ROM kids out there, but for a homebrew programmer. You'll tell me "the DSTwo has a built-in CPU, why would one want to access the DSi-Mode in that case? Well, it's quite a treat to have access to the extra RAM - RAM the DSTwo will never give you that.

Like I said earlier - the iEvo is not a card for ROM kids, it's a card for experimenting. It's not a "joke", it's not "pretty terrible", it's"the only card that can actually access the DSi-Mode" and I will continue to praise it until some other team releases one that does the same "better".

Not to mention that the main homebrew app that takes advantage of the extra speed is twice as fast on the DSTwo anyway (40mhz 386 on the DStwo vs 20mhz on the iEvo). So much for the whole "but the bottleneck issues and slower ram mean it sucks compared to DSi mode" thing.

Mhz do not reflect the factual speed of a processor. You should know that.
