The cooking coach exploit (with a retail cart) was patched? Then I'm definitively curious to know how they did this....
That's what I'd like to find out. If the Cooking Coach exploit has been patched in retail carts, there is some way that Nintendo can alter the loading procedure (IIRC someone mentioned the DSi-mode being un-patchable because the game is loaded and the exploit is save based). This all is just speculation since there hasn't been confirmation regarding the patch itself. Maybe Wintermute could know, since he's the one who actually found the exploit.

I think more than likely, they are actively searching the eeprom on the cart for the exploit, and if found, intentionally modifying the save, before launching the cart.

If this is the case, then it would be trivial for a modified cart to be made, that does NOT present the exploit on the first read.

I wonder if any dsiware haxx (for those of us that have it), have been further disabled system side, also by modifying save games before launching the dsiware.

I have both exploited games at home (cooking coach and the crossword game), if no one has done it before me, I'll update my DSiXL and try both and post the results.

You shouldn't. An user earlier in this topic said his cyclo dsi evo was no longer working on DS-i mode because the cooking mama save patch (the one the DSi evo uses) hax to gain DSi access, was blocked. Remember that 1.4.3U was the one killing most haxxes ie: Sudokuhax, so... don't.

Took the DSi update plunge. Nintendo seems to have left DSiWare haxx alone. :) (Remember, for users who don't already have it, they were never able to get it, for quite some time now anyways, just now its the case of whether Nintendo would actively delete existing DSiWare hax from those that updated their systems.)

Sudokuhaxx: Works (provided you never updated sudoku)
Exidiahaxx: Works.
GRThaxx: Works
Wasn't able to test field runners, because I transfered that game to my 3DS.

Don't worry, I keep my old black DSi for messing around, those exploits are useless on DSIXL (except for the CycloDSi), I don't really care about my XL, I always keep it up to date, so that's worth trying isn't it?
If it overwrtie the save inside the cart it's not a problem, I can rewrite them. :)

I have a PAL DSi XL but I keep the wifi off to conserve battery power. I only turn it on to trade pokemon >_<
It sucks there is no simple software switch or something on the main menu. I hate having to go to the settings
to toggle the wifi on or off.

Does the DSi XL auto update? I hope it doesn't pull a dick move and force me into updating next time I turn on the wifi.

Anyone know or can I just not click on update?

Good luck with that, then. But if you waste DSi mode on a beautiful DSi XL .. D:

The only reason to update would be:

A) To gain access to the Shop, or
B) The fix the Facebook issue.

If you don't care about either of those things, you don't have to update. The DSi(XL) does not auto-update, so you're safe.

DSTwo has a bottleneck effect and it's RAM is slower. At the end of the day DSi mode always >> DStwo.
DS2x86? :P Though that's not really about speed as much as it is capabilities (what with more RAM total and emulation of a newer processor and jazz).

i just tested that the r4infinity dual core works fine on the dsi xl 1.4.4 .you can learn more about this card on www.r4ifninty.com .
I really don't think anybody here gives a damn.
