Gaming Pokemon HG/SS Shiny starter help

Hey! i reeeaally want a shiny starter ,
I have a DSTWO wich has a SAVE SLOT option
and to have the shiny starter people has to save before chosing the starter and keep resetting until it goes shiny....

The question is can i use a save slot instead of keep soft resetting? because it takes less time , otherwise i will go nuts

Dunno, check if all of the starters have the same natures when you do it your way, and if not, then yeah they can be shiny.

the odds of getting shiny is like winning the lottery, its faster just hacking. i think pokegen makes it legit. i could be wrong tho.

If you hacked it, you didn't do it legit. There's no question.
This guy feels like getting a legit shiny, so just answer his question.

You can, the question is when the stats are decided (so you want to try to save a bit before that).

Use a save slot before you decide, and do that a few times and see if the stats of the pokemon change. If none of them change at all after a few tries, then that means you saved after the stats were chosen, and you'll have to save and try from earlier.

And it seems the majority of people out there that get theirs found out don't know the first thing about making it look legit, like stacking ALL the EVs to 255 and shit like that.

Technically, SR-ing for a shiny is like picking out a specific ball out of 8192 balls in a box. There is still luck and (lots of patience and effort) involved..... unlike PokeSav/PokeGen/whatever-hacking-tool-people-use-now as you have pointed out since that is totally effortless and requires no luck or skill or whatever at all.

I'd consider soft-resetting on an original game cart for a shiny starter legit. That's dedication, man.
