Since DSTWO has its own RAM and sucked more power than other carts on regular ds, maybe 3ds is still supplying power to the DSTWO even during sleep mode? I don't know for sure, just a wild guess.
Battery chart says false.

Those were also tested on a DS Lite. A used one, at that. For one user.

I as well have realized a drastic life decrease when leaving a DSTWO inserted, even on sleep mode. With a DS/3DS cartridge, or even no cartridge inserted, I can get anywhere from 2 to 2 and ahalf days of standby time with wireless enabled. With a DSTWO in, maybe around 16 hours.

DSTwo does suck up a lot more power when it is inserted.
Sometimes, when the battery LED is red, I can take it out and it will turn green again (DS Lite)
And then, if I repeatedly take it out then putting it in, battery LED changes to red/green each time.

well white is just 0xFFFFFF so maybe it's just glitched (as you said, it hanged for a little bit)
Not trying to be pedantic, but do you really think a 3-byte value would be used for the LED? Personally, I wouldn't have thought it capable of displaying 16777215 different colours :ha:

All in all, do you guys enjoy your 3DS? I'm itching to get one... Vita is still a long way for me (in term of being able to afford the system) right now I've sufficient for a 3DS system, are there decent RPGs to purchase?
fire emblem is coming to the 3ds.. i bet pokemon and golden sun will

Guys guys! I finally got a reply from Nintendo!

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and I appreciate your patience while we did some research into this situation. Unfortunately, I cannot find any information on what might have caused the notification light to appear white. It's possible the system was attempting to display multiple colors or that it was just "thinking" while starting up. If it continues to happen, please feel free to write again.

Sincerely,

Shawn Ford
Nintendo of America Inc

Seems they don't know for sure either.

dont worry...its nintendo updating your software......on their own ..it can take up to 10sec to 2 mins but then everything will be normal....its a very small update thats why its qutomatic

I'd like to see a source to prove that, as I've not once heard of this happening before.

Really theres a red LED light? i never knew that i should have checked the manual all wat i saw was green streetpass and blue spotpass

I've seen the white notification light before and I pretty much never turn my 3DS off, so I'm reasonably certain it wasn't a start up error. I far more suspect it was because my battery was low and I had street and spot pass notices. I did find it odd at the time, but I didn't care enough to find out what it meant.

For that matter, I've seen the turquoise light several times (street and spot pass LED's active). I'm more inclined to think it's just all about the RGB's then anything, unless someone has a reliable source to suggest or prove otherwise.

Let's have a crazy guy take apart the 3DS so we can see what the LED looks like.

Just kidding. There's already a 3DS someone has taken apart. He's that one guy who said gbatemp is full of retards and won't tell us anything about 3DS hacking, and people say he's managed to turn the screen upside down even though the 3DS is OBVIOUSLY taken apart, who says he couldn't have turned it upside down physically?

There's currently four colors,

Red = Battery is very low, turn off your system.
Orange = Someone in your friends list is currently online.
Blue = Spotpass notification.
Green = Streetpass notification.

Guys just stop for a moment, what gives Red+Green+Blue? The anwser is WHITE so if we manage to get a spotpass, streetpass and run low on battery we will get a white light (i think :S).
Btw orange means someone went online on your friend list.(if you dont already know)

I'd take mine apart, but I don't want to void my warranty *snicker* by taking the sticker off.
