Those who are planning to get this game might want to grab this deal which makes the game's cost down to $29.96. You have to pre-order the game and when it's shipped out, you get $10 worth of store credit towards next purchase fulfilled by Amazon. Thought I would share as I feel it may benefit some people. :)

This probably helps the people who think that buying this is stupid since the Vita is getting the HD Collection for like 20-30 bucks more expensive with 2 more games when (to my eyes) the hd collection MGS 3 doesn't look as good as the 3ds one.

Just my opinion

If the game really does have it's issues fixed, I'd say go for it.

Or else, save your $ or top up to get the HD collection on PS3/360/Vita if you have them.

The Vita HD collection only has 2 and 3.

Really? I didn't know it didn't have Peace Walker. I guess this make the 3ds version not that retarded overall with this price

Lemme remind you all that this is Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3DS thread not Metal Get Solid HD Collection!

That's ok I believe, it is a healthy discussion for the benefit of all as gamers. It's alright to compare games to find out where to put our money for the best purchase...

Trust me I know how they always end seeing how multiple threads regarding MGS always ends up into a huge fanboy-ism war,

*Nods* I saw it happening myself, several times. I was just hoping for it to not happen again... The comments above so far do not suggest fanboy-ism.

I am double-minded about buying this game, already playing Peace-Walker these days (Just finished the Pupa Battle OP.) Enjoying it a lot, I guess I will pass this game for now and pick it up used once I finish Peace-Walker.... I can't believe that I had never played MGS games until recently. :O

Amazon e-mailed me about this a while ago.

I haven't played MGS before this one (A little bit of 4, and hated it actually), but after playing the demo, there is no way I am getting it.

Just wondering, what's wrong with it in you opinion?

Yay; I own all the previous iterations and the HD Collection, time to buy another one.

Not my type of game.

I like games like Uncharted, and Resident Evil which are similar to this, but I don't know. It's a good concept, I just feel like the whole stealth part is executed wrong.

Also, it felt really "unfinished" to me. Most likely because it's an older demo, but when you press L to go in first person mode, I felt like it just looked terrible. Also, I feel like it's extremely boring for the type of game that it is.

Well, this is being based off pretty much the demo alone, but not my type of game. I'm glad to see other people are enjoying it though.

I really appreciate your input. My 3DS is being shipped and I was thinking of pre-odering this. Since I cant play the demo, I'm relying on people's opinons.

This heled a lot.

Well it still has like Metal Gear Solid 2 in it which is nothing to put aside lightly. It's as big as a game as MGS3, it's just that everyone liked MGS3 more for it's not-so-retardedly-odd story, setting, and also that it had the return of Snake (not Solid Snake, but a Snake) instead of everyone's favorite, non-cyborg ninja Raiden.

And yeah, this isn't everyone's game. I would highly suggest not buying it (in its PS2, 3DS, or HD Collection form) until you can try it somewhere else. It's a game with a lot of cutscenes and a lot of sitting, waiting, and analyzing. It's not actiony at all, you'll spend more time lying flat in the grass than actually shooting a gun (which honestly I only do during the boss fights) or taking down enemies. There's also a pretty big learning curve on how to track enemy movements and manage your medicine and stamina. It's an awesome game and probably one of the best stories in gaming but it's not for everyone.

I know, it was hard for me to get into the series a while ago, But what i meant was that i previously recall you called this game

...a mediocre concept for a portable game

Just saying that for the price in amazon,

Compared to the Vita's HD Collection with visuals not as good as the 3DS version (My guess of course because of the look of the PS3/360 HD Collection means it will not look better) And the Vita's HD Collection having MGS 2 and higher price makes this game not as mediocre.

You can get the HD Collection for $37 on Amazon currently, free shipping. For $7 more you get two more games and a consistent framerate.

Also, "looks better" is relative. While the 3DS version has better shaders and retexturing, the HD Collection has less jaggies, hella better framerate, and its upscaled.

Also it's still just "$10 store credit". I got the same promotion for Mass Effect 3. I get $10 towards Amazon but not $10 back.
