Okay, so I've asked this before but I'm still confused about it.

My Gamecube has WiiGator Backup Launcher 0.2, and I don't need it. I can't run backup disks because my drive is one of those newer ones. So I'll never be able to run backup GCN games. So, what are the exact steps I can do to get back my original GCN channel, without destroying the Wii? Thanks!

Delete the channel through SM->settings->data management->channels. Then if you want to restore the MIOS to the original you can download the MIOS through ModMii and install it with MMM, but there is not need to do that.

No need to do that? Why exactly is there no need to do that? Please explain.

Because it won't have any negative affect. You can run retail discs normally.

I'm afraid I still don't understand. How would I be able to play GCN games without reinstalling the original software to play GCN games with?

Because the software is already there. With the cMIOS you have the ability to play retail and backup games.

Zesu-chan, i think you got the wrong cMIOS installed. Install a clean MIOS, my cMIOS or DML, and the gc backup launcher will not bug you anymore.

Based on his comments, I don't think the OP actually has any problems running games, but rather just assumed that it won't work.

Oh it's no assumption. I posted this to find out for sure. My Wii is not capable of running Gamecube backups because of my drive.

And I'm not sure what you guys are saying anymore. My problem is simple: I have WiiGator on my Wii, I have no need for it because GCN backups won't work regardless, I want to remove it. If I remove it, will the original Nintendo gamecube player still be there, or will I have to reinstall that?

I'm not talking about backups, I was talking about retail discs. I don't understand why you want it gone when it's not hurting. In fact, it's beneficial in case you ever want to run an imported game.

If you still want to remove it for no reason (yeah, that's what I think :P ), just download MIOSv10 from ModMii and install the wad. The end.

If the game isn't a backup or an import, does it default to the regular player?

Joostin, again, WiiGator's loader does not work on all retail discs. And if the system menu blocks import games, then a cMIOS won't get started at all.

Just install a clean MIOS, and it will be gone.
