Hacking 6.20 B-10 freeze

Eversince I installed the firmware, at random times, the PSP would freeze, then turn off.

Looking at pic, listening to music, playing a game. The same thing.

This never happen when I used 5.50 Gen

Oh, I'm have a 1000 model if that helps.

Yes, I just reformatted my MS, let see if it did anything.

Still freezes, tried my 2GB...I think it may be my 8GB MS?

I assume you're using the same plugins that you used when you had 5.50 Gen. Old plugins have compatibility issues with current cfws and can cause your psp to freeze.

Remove your seplugins folder (keep it backed up somewhere) and see if that fixes it.

You cant use sepluginsfor 5.50-Gen. Just delete seplugins folder and make a new one,then add new seplugins for your new cfw.

I have the same problem but with the addition of system bugs. What I mean with that is, for example, when I play a game on PSP I press the analog stick up but the character keeps walking left even when I don't push the stick; in the menu the system selects random choices and generally the system runs on its own (of course it freezes quite often like Kyo 3 - 16's PSP). I'm in PSP Slim 6.20 PRO B-6 and I can't even access the cpu menu (the one you get if you press select on XMB). I noticed the problem when I was on PRO B-4 using the "Unofficial gpSP GBA emulator", so I updated to B-6 but nothing happened; I get the same results. I doubt it was because of the emulator, because it happens on other games too. Can anyone offer a solution?

Now that you say it, yes, the PSP has been dropped few times and the UMD cover on the back can't close anymore (I think something is broken/jammed). However I don't mind this since I only had one UMD and I was using the PSP primarly for emulators (SNES and Gameboy). I installed the PRO B-4 and after 3 months of perfect working condition, it started glitching as I mentioned before. Could it really be just because something is broken. I have seen three other PSPs hacked with this method and all of them work fine.

Ghost Control inputs such as analogue drift or phantom home or face buttons are very unlikely to be down to firmware changes. Much more so you have something sticky interfering with the contacts or damage to the hardware itself - it could be something easy to fix such as reattaching or cleaning a component, or something more elusive to track down.

I see. But what about the freezing? Is that part of hardware failure too?

In any case, can you recommend a good guide to clean/fix these components?

Freezing is if anything worse and when i've seen it in the past it's generally due to a PSP that's on the way out.

I'd recommend selling that one off or trading it in for another one.

Yeah, I don't mind so much. I didn't play many PSP games, but the device is awesome for classic emulators! Looks like I'll have to find an other handheld to run emulators on.

I installed the official 6.35 firmware and then ran the PRO B-9 hack for 6.35, but nothing happened. The PSP is still glitching, so I suppose I'm done with it.

Can anyone recommend a handheld console for homebrew and emulators like Dingoo, but with a bigger screen?

Anything by Game Park Holdings (GP2x, GP2x Wiz, GP2x Caanoo (latest in the line)), Dingoo A330 (about the size of a PSP), OpenPandora (if you are rich) - lots and lots of options, really.​
