rydian you should also warn users about the permanent patch it caused many bricks, note you have to unistall it before updating pro or removing pro or updating the official firmware.
Actually, the permanent patch has a test run that will evaluate whether installing it is safe or not, then does the actual installation of the patch; it's not really that dangerous or has caused many bricks. iirc, the only pro firmware that caused a brick was on pro-b10, although it's already been fixed and released as pro-b10fix1.

Uninstalling the permanent patch before updating has been disproved by some members (prowler_ and some other members, iirc), so you don't actually have to uninstall it. If some people feel uncomfortable updating while still having the perma patch, they can just uninstall it. You'd probably want to uninstall the perma patch if you're updating your OFW, though.

Uninstalling pro prior to updating isn't needed either, but for cautious people, they can (optionally) do that. As for uninstalling before updating OFW, I'm not quite sure about that.

Yeah the 6.20 permanent isn't the CIPL, it's the vsh_main patch.

Touche!

But the method grew from using software to reassign the battery's EEPROM chip serial as all zero's, thus triggering the boot into service mode. There's no special hardware involved, just software tricks.
If people are looking into hacking a PSP, we can guess they don't have one... so they either buy a third-party, or physically modify a normal one into a pandora... both being hardware.

While the use of the CFW itself is all in software, the pandora guide and this one deal with the installation, which is where the distinction lies.

Hardware exploited soft-mod Vs. Software exploited softmod Vs. Softmod Vs. Hardmod huh? ;)

I'mma' go to the EoF and release the first PSP GangBangMod...

One question. After installing cIPL flasher i can simply delete the pro-b files right? You might want to add the fact that people has to rename their folder to UPDATE once the firmware is downloaded and transfered.

Yes after you have a form of permanent patch the install files aren't needed.

The guide states that the folder should be UPDATE (even bolded it), if that's what you mean.
Aha didnt notice.

EDIT: The 6.60 one is inside a folder named 6.60 OFW btw so it is worth mentioning it anyways.

ok guys i downloaded the permanent file.....in my psp go as instructed but when i run it it says no need to update..then i downloaded the next folders and put them there then when i start the permanent bootloader it says game cant be played data is corrupted..help pls

Please...the FAQ is crystal clear....just go through logically.

What firmware is your PSP currently on? Which version of Pro are you trying to install? That sounds like the issue. Plus do you have it placed in the correct place?

There isn't a permanent one for the PSP Go on 6.39.

Make sure you have extracted the 639PROUpdate and 639FastRecovery folders to /PSP/GAME/ to avoid the corrupted file error. Then just follow the FAQ

Can`t get 6.60 CFW to load? Updated to 6.60 OFW, then when trying to click X to run Pro Update it just exits to the main XMB screen. Am I missing a step on when to click X (something flashes on the screen for 1 second but to fast to read) is that when I`m suppose to click X.

EDIT......PSP Go (if it matters to say)
Finally read what the screen said

PRO-B by Team PRO
Press X to launch CFW
Press Triangle to uninstall CFW
Hold L to reinstall CFW
Press R to exit.
Exiting.......

Nothing happens when I press or hold buttons, just immediately goes back to XMB.
