Hacking Is there a way to make Pokemon games work with DSi mode?

I tried to boot Pokemon Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver through DSi Mode because my DSi XL firmware is on 1.4.3, so I can't use DSLite Mode. Is there any way to make them work? Or am I better off buying a new card?

Also, MoonShell doesn't work as well, is there anyway to fix it? Thanks in advance.

CycloDS iEvolution cards are shipped without any rom data on it and need to be programmed after that they are in DS mode and don't run on DSi OS 1.4.3 but in order to switch them to DSi mode you have to run them. After that they run on DSi OS 1.4.3 however since he can't run them once he can't switch the card to DSi mode.

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.... DSi XL is on 1.4.3 but he can't use DS Mode? How is he running games then if he can't use DS Mode on his DSi XL?

the ievo ds-mode bootloader was never updated by team cyclops. if you have the ievo booted into the ds-mode bootloader and you update the dsi to 1.4.3, you can not switch the bootloader to dsi-mode. thus the flash kit is stuck in one mode or the other on those updated systems. the only way around it is a community made hack that works only on the ds lite, from what i recall.

the real issue is that 1.4.3 is not supported by the ievo ds-mode bootloader.

pretty much all the ievo is good for is as a ds-mode flash kit on the lite/phat or a dsi-mode homebrew flash kit on the dsi. don't buy one if you are expecting dsi-mode rom support or dsi-mode compatibility layer support.

I'm already running my iEvo on DSi mode, it's just that DSi mode doesn't seem to work with Pokemon games. It always give a blue screen error "A communication error has occured. You will be returned to the title screen. Please press the A Button". As for MoonShell, it won't boot. I do have a DSLite though, so I can easily switch between modes using this tool if needed.

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.... DSi XL is on 1.4.3 but he can't use DS Mode? How is he running games then if he can't use DS Mode on his DSi XL?

The iEvo doesn't run in DS mode if on 1.4.3 firmware. What I asked was what kind of error he receives and after that, depending on the nature of the error, he has 2 choices. One is to try and find a way to patch the game to work (not feasible) or buy a flashcart that works on 1.4.3 in DS mode. Those are pretty much the only options left since TC hasn't updated the loader.

tl;dr: I answered the question he was asking. Read what I and ichichfly wrote and learn. This is a problem with how the cart works, not whether or not it's possible in DSi mode, since it's still quite unstable on most parts.
