and now im looking for a program that converts 2d vids into 3d side by side.
lolno. You can't magically add a dimension to video. If its shot in 2D, it stays in 2D. End of story.

but i had a program called MediaConverter 7.5
theres a option for converting 2d to side by side.
and it dosnt just copys the video and makes 2 of it.
u can actally see that both sides r diffrant.

ok just to clear up, yes you can technically "3D" 2d videos, kind of like what they are doing with the star wars movies. but its a 2d video being basically photo shopped so yeah you get a 3d if they do it well and the longer time it takes, but it is still different than when they film a movie with the 3d camera, especially those ones they use in movie production. you can even tell just by using the camera on the 3ds, the way it focuses and adjusts the images makes people in general look a lot better. you actually get the depth of objects more as opposed to just seeing how far away something is from something else. you know you can actually 3d anything with a 3d tv and it just uses simple programs to make the 2 images. it just is not that great. again anything made in 3d is better, like the difference between uncharted 3 and call of duty in 3d, even with plenty of the 3d movies, some were just made poorly and the cgi put into the 3d didnt come out so great. i would suggest getting videos of 3d movies actually made in 3d, especially imax ones. there are actually some good videos too on youtube that are sbs of games, etc, all quite good quality and once converted look pretty damn good on 3ds. i thought dead space 2 was great in 3d. either way it really depends on how 3d you really want it, me personally i want stuff as 3d as it can get so those 2d to 3d things never cut it for me.

Hi everyone ! Here are my personal experiences with this nice software !!! Maybe they are helpful for someone else .....

- I converted several SBS mkvs in 720 / 1080p.
- All of them are playable if the FPS are set under 24.
- When I set FPS to 24 or higher the files are shown not to be compatible / playable.
- The videos are stuttering a bit on the 3DS (but not on PC)
- Using the "Keep Aspect Ratio" option is doing a great job !!!!
- High bitrates seem to be worth it, leading to a much better quality for little extra-size. (f.e. 9000 Kbps)

For optimal playback I use the video-utility screen, deactivated on-screen infos in options and playback speed reduced, but just as little as possible !!!!
Reducing playback speed seems to reduce the stuttering significantly !!!!! Can someone confirm that, please ? I prefer 23.976 FPS.

Conclusion: This is a great, great encoding tool and I say THANK YOU SO MUCH to all coders and people involved in that project.
For me personally here a dream comes true.... Amazing ! Brilliant !

Maybe there is a way to get rid off that stuttering though the encoding process ???

I am very sorry, but what does this thing do? it converts videos to 3DS format, but as far as I know there is no video player for the 3DS. Can someone explain this to me?

You can play converted videos through the camera application... but you need a v3 update !
v3 update? what? I have the latest 3DS frimware, is that enough?
Wait, you mean 3DS frimware, so I should have it

I would think that the stuttering is caused by higher bitrates in either video or audio. I would keep the bitrate as low as you can bare, also, a lower frame rate, might make better image quality at the same bitrates.

Always nice to hear that you like this Program.
If you confine the video bitrate to values of ~5000-6000 Kbps, it's possible to use higher framerates than 24fps.
Videos will be very smooth and in high quality then (assuming your source video has that high framerates).

WARNING: The output folder cannot have spaces anywhere in the path (e.g. "C:Documents and SettingsUsername3DS Videos" or "C:3D Videos") or it will not work. [there is now an error given if you choose a path with a space in it] Ideally, plug in your SD card and choose the folder on it containing any photos/videos taken with the 3DS camera as the output folder, and then you won't have to manually copy any files.
Can I ask why this is?
What language are you using that you can't use %20 or arrange your quotes properly?

I am using AutoHotKey as I specified in the first post I think, and I'm sure there is a way to fix it, but I have given up on updating this any further, I couldn't really be bothered considering I don't a 3DS. It started off as a quick project one afternoon, and now it's a lot more advanced than I had ever planned (mainly due to the other people working on it, but I did put in a lot more work than I had planned)

I can second this. you can actually push some videos to 30 frames that were not there originally. i must have not realized it was because i have been jacking up the bitrates as well. that makes complete sense. man i wish we could actually jack it up high enough to go over to like 45 and stuff. is this not possible? i mean the system has the ability to play videos in 60 fps right? unless it is indeed that nintendo just made it so in the camera app wont play higher than 30 since it isnt filming that high. but if i remember correctly we found out the videos we record were in 24, so if it can go up to 30 and still be watchable then maybe. i am going to give it a try with a small video soon. i am going to put the bitrate on like 20000 and try going higher. probably wont work though i am sure.

Did anyone notice that videos recorded with 3DS are told to be defective if you try to play them with VLC media player ? What could be the reason for it ?
Did anyone notice all videos encoded with 3DSVideo are shown to have been recorded on 1.1.1900 ? What could be the reason for it ?
Right now I´m getting hard problems, some videos do not appear on 3DS, even single parts out of a row... ???? Any fix ?
I found all cartoon movies to be played very well on the 3DS but real-life ones stutter, no matter what bitrate I set, no matter if high or low.
I also controlled the videos on my PC and the playback is fine there. Since cartoons are siginificantly easier to decode I assume the 3DS is simply not powerful
enough to handle them smoothly. But I guess some changes can be made to make decoding less demanding in advance for bigger file sizes.
What do you think about those thoughts ? Would be happy about a fix....

Hi!

I'm having problems using this converter.

Whats the most basic setting I should use to make videos play on the 3DS. I can't make videos play. It says unsupported. And sometime videos doesn't even show up.

I have SbS videos. What other items should I tick on the program. What other setting should I change. fps/bitrate/etc. And as mush as possible the highest number for the audio. Default is 256.

Thanks.

Okay, to be honest, I would be very interested if there is a possibility that someone could cut James Camerons Avatar in pieces of 10 minutes (That's the length accepted for 3DS, right?) and convert all the pieces to 3D, so we can watch Avatar on our 3DS. :)

Hi! I need some help!!! I converted a video using Fab 2D to 3D video converter to SBS so I see two videos in the same screen, then I open the 3DS Video v1.1 and check the SBS Input video option with 5 in quality, but the problem I have is that when I save it in the SD card (I'm 100% sure that I save it in the correct folder) and turn on my 3DS and search for the video a message pops up saying that the video is not supported or it doesn't appear at all!!!! Could someone help me??? Is something I'm doing wrong??? THNX A LOT!!!!
