...am I the only one who thinks that the "gamepad" portion should be detachable? All due respect, this may look like a great gaming device, but when used as a tablet, especially in portrait mode... it will simply look dumb. Dumb and quite impractical and non-ergonomical.

no. if they are in fact non detachable, then it is and extremely poor design choice.

It would appear that they are permanently fixed to the frame.

I'm more excited for the fact that it has a 3D screen than the control scheme. This will be a good device for watching 3D movies (more-so than the 3DS) but I hope the control scheme is detachable as that would detract from the movie-watching experience a bit.

It would be pretty awesome if you could play games in 3D on the tablet via Onlive. I'll probably get this provided it isn't too expensive. Oh and Ice Cream Sandwich is nice.

You mixed the two tablets. One is a i7-powered Windows 8 tablet with non-detachable (on the concept device) controls and the other is an Android tablet with detachable controls.

Unless it has a driver like iz3d many games on the android market wont support 3d, along with the controls

Oops. I didn't see Thug's post and assumed you guys were talking about the tablet in the OP.

This is what current tablets/phones are missing if they want to "overcome" portable gaming devices.

BUTTONS

However, It needs to be more portable, that thing looks giant.. And the price is definitely an issue too. If this thing comes out like $500..

3D is neat. more portable options for 3D movies (i think there's the HTC EVO 3D, and then the 3DS, and then this). that in itself is definitely not bad.

however, compare the prices and you definitely got some pondering to do. i personally wouldn't spend $1000 on a toy, even if i can afford it. prices like that, i'd rather buy a desktop AND another 3D solution.

I do want a tablet and it would be nice if it could play some games in case I get bored......Which is why Im going to try the JXD S7100 when I get the money
