I have jEnesis 0.7.4, and it runs fine, but it won't recognize my .md ROM files, only the one .gen one.

How do I get it to recognize my other ROM files so I can play the other games?

trying changeing the file output like for example not sure you file is at the end try this

contra.md= contra.bin

see if that works.

or contra.gen.

Most likely you can just change the file extension and you'll be fine. At least on the SNES, all the various file formats pretty much only differ in the 512-byte header that all modern emulators ignore. It was important for proper copying back to an SNES copier, but for emulation purposes they're all the same. I suspect the same might be true on the Genesis as well, though I'm not 100% sure about that.

Changing the files to .gen worked! Now I can play Streets of Rage 2 and Rocket Knight Adventures and Vectorman!

Thanks!

Awesomesauce. Glad to hear it was just a file naming convention issue and not something more serious. Happy playing, dude! =D
