Everyone who says this going to fail is an idiot. No, this isn't intended to be used for gaming.

One guy already managed to enable Minority Report-style interaction with Windows and Kinect.


Frankly, I'm excited to see what developers manage to do with Kinect on Windows.

Isn't there already support for Kinect for PC now? Or am I just imagining it?

Kinect had unofficial support before that though.

To add to that: Microsoft challenge "modders" to "reprogram" the Kinect. Giving million dollars to the first group or person who successfully do so and they did.

I enjoy the opportunity to wave my arms at my computer when I could do everything infinitely easier with a mouse and keyboard.

Yeah, I think i'll stick with my mouse. I really never understood the fascination with motion controls. Honestly, outside of videogames there actually is no real use for motion controls, until virtual reality is perfect of course, but chances are that wont be a motion control thing either. Kinect has a chance to not actually suck now that people can develop real games, but other than that...this is pointless.
