3DS Expected To Outperform DS' First Year

Saying the Vita is already dead sounds like you're counting your chickens before they hatch.

As for the news: There must be a lot of celebrating back in Nintendo. Still, it is far from over. The console may be gaining momentum now, but who's to say that it won't falter once the holiday game rush ends and a newer, shinier system enters the race?

This is going to be very interesting to watch.

It makes sense that the 3DS would be able to surpass DS sales from a first-year comparison. The DS came out in late November for NA and early December for JP, so while it had hooked into the holiday season at release, it didn't have a whole lot to offer either. It wasn't until that time the following year when it began to surge. The 3DS has the advantage of having been released earlier in the calendar year, and getting the MUST HAVE titles like SM3DL and MK7 earlier in the 3DS's first year while also being during the holiday season.

As much as people have said that Nintendo made a poor decision in releasing the 3DS when it did, this information alone shows how logical a decision it was.

i belive they are talking about the first 8 months of the 3ds and the first 8 month of the ds and not about the year it came out by itself.

I've got a 3DS and I'm pleased with Ocarina. That's that. Remember that the DS's sales only began to pick up with the Lite, mind you.

I like how those surveys and studies are made one after the other, not really giving the developers any time to release anything. Obviously results from last month (no Mario) will be less favourable and results from this month will be quite suprisingly good.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions here, we already know that Sony's going to literally bombard the 3DS with Vita's launch titles, most of which look quite interesting (Metal Gear Solid HD, Zone of Enders HD, Street Fighter vs. Tekken, Lord of Apocalypse, Uncharted, just to name a few "instant hits").

Besides, does it really matter which console has better sales when to have the full gaming experience you need to have both anyways? That's "the law of the exclusive", if you're not in that 1/3rd of users who purchase both consoles, you're simply missing out on the experience of each generation.

The list goes on, really. If you're on about Uncharted, it's a new game that just doesn't have a number infront of it. If you're talking about HD collections, it's for the sake of Transfarring (playing the same game on the PS3, then going out and playing the same save file on your Vita). I really picked just random titles.

I've been enjoying my 3DS a lot since March when I bought it. All I've heard from people is "3DS has no games", well I'm enjoying all of the games that I have so i don't care what others say.

Fish On Another fishing game. I didn't really like stand alone fishing games. I mean you fish and then what? 3DS has a fishing app which was pretty good for being free.
Dynasty Warriors Musou Next 3DS has one and another coming.
Shinobido II OK Although 3ds got it own form of Shinobi.
Power Smash 4 PS3 Although the psv seem to have made it to it own game base on videos. Haven't played a tennis game in a while.
Uncharted: Golde Abyss OK. Tho, some argue it is going to be inferior to the ps3 games.
Hot Shots Golf 6 err... Golf games aren't really my thing, but I think it is time I give them another shot. Don't the 3ds have a eshop version?

Key word is.."EXPECTED". that means it hasn't happen yet.
