ok so my dad is visiting U.S. next month and i have asked him to get a red 3ds and ooT,
i was surfing around the web and read many articles saying 3d effect is cheap, it hurts your eyes etc etc,
well i am 16 and i dont really think the 3d is going to hurt my eyes at all (cmon!) and the current lineup does not underwhelm me because i know great title are on the way
(espacially mh3)
so can anyone tell me if i should cancel my 3ds or should i buy one anyway,
currently i have a dsi xl and an r4i and i loved it,
and by the way i found it really weird that if a game like monster hunter tri can be handled by the 3ds why arent games at par with mh(graphically) coming out????
cuz i really couldnt believe it when i saw the 3ds running mh tri g and the graphics looked as good as wii

You would be missing out, like me, if you do not get one.
My friends all have 3DS though so I get to play it all the time (me win)
The 3D is fantastic, anyone saying otherwise litterally just have problems with their eyes.
If you have no eye problems - you will not have a problem with the 3D.
The 3D effect on top of great graphics and shader effects make some games look on a par with PS3 on that small screen.

Games to get are

Dead or Alive
Monster Hunter 3
Monster Hunter 4 (exclusive to 3DS next year!)
Mario 3D Land
Resident evil revelations
Ace Combat
Kid Icarus
F1
Conduit 3D

You said your dad is going to the US to get it..
Why is that? Do you know that the 3DS is region locked? That means you'll need to import all of your games if you live somewhere else.
I wouldn't recommend buying a US 3DS if you live in a different region. Just though you should know.

i know about the region locking thing, but i live in india and i am just assuming that all the games sold over here and all the 3ds are NA versions cuz ,well why would they sell a eur version here? and knowone speaks japanese in india so no jap 3ds as well so i just assumed that an american version would be available here as well as the games , if i am wrong someone please correct me

and by the way ill buy a monster hunter if it gets translated , oot, mario kart and thats it, after that ill just be waiting for some hack =), i wont get bored because monster hunter itself could provide me with over 500+ hours of gameplay

I have glasses but I haven't really had any real eye strain from turning on the 3D. Then again I only turn it on for a few minutes. It cuts the framerate and sometimes makes the game look a bit worse. 80% of the time 3D is switched off.

Graphics wise the 3DS is acceptable. It falls short in terms of current-gen graphics but it's acceptable.

Graphics aren't exact factors which makes games fun (although it does effect). Look at some DS games, despite the horribly low resolution the games are still enjoyable.

The 3DS has a GPU by Digital Media Professionals, and you can look at its true potential on certain YouTube videos I believe. Sure the 3DS doesn't have a graphics count as magnificent as some qHD mobile devices but games are the things which make the console fun.

I didn't really see how the 3ds isn't current-gen graphics anyway.
Plus you got to understand the 3ds has much more things where power spreads.
Look at Resident Evil (which I think it is good enough, you even got 3d). Imagine that on one regular screen.

Besides, more power, more of a excuse/reason or/and room for devs to rise game prices.

If you like white, I say go for the bundle as well.

Oh look.

Best Buy deals.

Don't forget MarioKart 7, Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion... (although the latter two won't be out before Christmas, IIRC...

Also, some of my friends have bought the 3DS saying its 'the worst $180 they've ever spent'... I think they're retards. I think it was one of my best $250 (I bought on launch) purchases that I have made... I think the 3D is amazing, it works really well if you're not in super bright direct sunlight (but glare on the screen is more of a problem than the 3D not working very well...) The battery life isn't terrible, as long as you don't plan to spend all day on it. I leave mine on the dock, and when I want to play, I get it out, play for a couple hours and throw it back on. Mine lasts about 36hrs on a charge if only using streetpass.

My only complaint is that the speakers are really loud... and the 3D effect on stuff like movie trailers isn't very prominent, because its made for 24"+ screens, not ~4" screens...

Go for it!

Keep your DSi for DS games, and get a 3DS. Since you have a DSi and a flashcart, dont use a flashcart on your 3DS for now (DS graphics on 3DS aren't that great compared to DSL/DSi).

I got a NDSL and a 3DS, they're great! And be sure to get some 3DS games there :D

lol, that's exactly what I'm doing for SM3DL and MK7, I'd say you're list is pretty much set for now :D
But get a battery pack! Seriously, it helps a lot! that way you can play MK 7 more!
Also PM me your friendcode when you get it, I'd love to play with you sometime!

Remember to buy a 220-110V step down transformer to use with the USA 3DS charger. It should be available in your local electronics store.

Or just get a 220V 3DS charger from a video game store. Or ask for a DSi charger it's the exact same thing just that they might charge extra for a 3DS one.

He has a DSi XL though, so I'm sure he'll be fine
