NX-Diffuser is a port of the recently released G-Diffuser PC port of F-Zero X and it's accompanying N64DD Expansion.

All credit goes to Zorkats for the initial PC port work.

The current version is v1.0.1-switch, which should be feature-identical to upstream 1.0.1.

Downloads can be found here: Releases
Source code can be found here: Source

Installation steps can be found in the README. It requires a few more files than is common for most N64 decomp ports, but hopefully it's understandable what's needed. If you need help or something doesn't make sense, then feel free to ask here and I'm available to clarify.

If you find any issues with the port, please report them on the issues tracker (or here works too). Don't bother upstream about any bugs specific to this release. They have nothing to do with this project and any mistake is most likely mine anyways.

Gameplay is pretty consistently 55+fps at stock clocks, almost always hitting 60. Sometimes in the menus there is light stutter, but it's nothing too bad. The lowest I've seen is 45 when tallying score at the end of a race. I'll be looking more into optimisations to hopefully get 60fps everywhere.

Enjoy!

You and your ports, man... this is awesome. Thank you a lot for this!

I experienced a crash in the title screen once, just as it was switching from the static title screen to the demo gameplay, but it was really random and I haven't been able to reproduce it. I'll keep an eye out for it.

I have noticed upstream tends to do that too, but I never actually had it happen on Switch. If it's a proper crash, could you send me the Atmosphere crash dump that it generates as those are helpful to tracking down what the issue is. Or maybe it never happens again. I've let the title screen run for about 25 minutes and could never actually get it to happen.

Oh, at least then it isn't something related to your work on this!
A crash happened, but within the software, not the whole OS.

Game's log only recorded these shaders-compile errors. I don't know if that's to be expected anyway.

Edit: also, I just opened the game and it's the second time it opens the settings menu automatically at boot. That's strange.

Those are expected errors, nothing to worry about. For crash like the `This application closed because an error occurred" screen popped up? That's what would generate an Atmosphere crash dump. The settings menu will re-open if you close the game with the menu open without using the exit button the menu provides. That's the same as how the PC version does it. Closing the game without the menu open, or using the power button in the menu, doesn't have it show on the next boot.
