Castlevania Symphony of the Night - Switch Port

This is a wrapper/port of the Android version of Castlevania Symphony of the Night (v1.0.6)
It loads the original game binary, patches it and runs it.
It's basically as if we emulate a minimalist Android environment in which we natively run the original Android binary as is.

Thanks for your hard work! It works great! But it's a bit awkward to attack with Y and jump with A. Could jump be changed to B? By the way... is it true that the Android version of Castle of Illusion can't be ported to Switch because it uses FMOD?

Didn't looked at any games that use FMOD yet, i'll try

You able to do mega man x dive offline?
I started working on it, but Unity needs too much work and i prefer to focus on other games for now
@ChanseyIsTheBest is working on porting a Unity game so it can be reused for Mega Man.

Works like a charm!

How can I configure the buttons to my liking? Is that even possible?
Not without recompiling from source but if some mappings are or feel wrong, let me know and i'll change them

Could you please, remap the Jump button to B?

It feels weird to use two buttons that are on opposite sides for attack and jump.

The Attack button is already on Y, so its more intuitive to use.

Thanks a lot!

Damn, thank you man. I have this on my phone, I legit bought it from the store because I love CastleVania as a whole, but I rarely played it. I kinda don't like playing on my phone. Now, I will be able to play it again!! (maybe my 79th run through this game but:lol: I love it!)

Thanks!!!

Nice to see! Is the Android version as well regarded as the original?
I've just checked and this version is based on the PSP version, which has rerecorded voices, the bonus character from the Saturn version and a different ending song. Some purists prefer the original voices and ending song from the PS1 version. There are some mods to various versions to restore the original audio into the PSP and XBOX360 versions, but i didnt see any mods for the android one.

Great info, thanks. I understand the purism for people who are used to the original, but I haven't played either so I don't see a downside to this version for me.

yeah I have also never played it, although I think I would probably prefer the orig given the choice.
Theres also the option to play the saturn version on the switch using the cotton2 saturn emulator, theres some chat about it here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/saturn-...ardian-force-testing-and-debug.600756/page-98
<<edit>> i see you in the same thread, so you already know
