Gosh, if you can afford the console then buy the exclusives you want to play on it. NS2 is pretty much the most affordable console on the market and actually has exclusives while PS5 hardly has any and Xbox has none.

I'm not buying the game simply because I didn't like the glossy graphics.

switch 1 really is a gift from the god, it have nintendo exclusive game, extremly easy to hack and really just a potato so pretty much all pc even phone can emulate it !

I think rcm still exists on switch 2 but you can’t do anything with it, I don’t have a switch 2 but if the joy con rail still existed and wasn’t a magnet thing, I’m sure a jig would still probably work to go to rcm.

RCM still exist on the latest model Switch 1 units. Being able to access RCM as never a problem it was that their RCM mode was flawed and exploitable.

I know about that, I’m just saying switch 2 would have probably still had a rcm similar to that if the joy con still had rails.

Well yeah some form of factory recovery mode is (almost) always there. Though accessing it is a complete mystery and would likely lead to a dead end. See with the Switch 1 it was already known that the Tegra X1 had an exploit in its recovery mode. The method to boot it was discovered after.

Nobody knows. Only way to tell is insert the cart in a unit on an old FW and let it install the update offline.

I love that you don't get that with Switch 2 there is no point to staying on lower firmware; the question was answered days ago.

Hacking Switch 2 is years away from now unless there is surprise miracle that happened to Switch 1 in early 2018 - it is rarity.

Even if Switch 2 is hacked, it will take while for end users to access, or more limited if hacking is very firmware dependency like PS4 and PS5 require you to be on specific firmware.

If Switch 2 is hacked, it would enable the service to inject the save in the cloud as exchange for payment like they do with PS5.

If you want Star Fox remake badly, so go buy 2nd Switch 2.

You can probably rent a NS2 + SF64HD, play it, finish it, and return it.

I personally don't care about NS2 becoming hackable, I'm happy the way it is right now. Could Nintendo add more features? Yes. Will they? No.

Does anybody know, or could somehow check for me what the minimum star fox firmware, im trying to stay below 21.0.0 bc thats where are the found entry points have been proven to work.

The firmware the comes with Star Fox physical cart is 21.2.0.

My recommendation is buying 2nd Switch if you want to keep first one as hope for hacking in the future.

That is hilarious for sure lol.

Honestly, my expectation for Switch 2 hacking is very low for now and it is same view for PS4 and PS5 because it is more of firmware dependency, also I don't want my PSN account to be banned with tons of digital games. (I'm aware about throwaway account).

Last time I hacked on Playstation was PS3 in 2010 and it was strictly used for inject the save before save resigner software become available that don't require the CFW on PS3.
