Well I've tried like 8 different SD cards formatted every way I could think of and its always slower. Sometimes a little bit sometimes a lot depending on the card and how it's formatted. Honestly the inconsistency is the biggest problem. Both my picos are slower than my R4iTT clone in the bag. I can literally line them up side by side on two different DS' and press down at the same time on both. The R4iTT gets to the bottom noticeably quicker. Same save and all.We don't want to introduce speedhacks as it may break some games in unexpected ways. The main focus of pico-loader is to run the retail games as close as the original cartridges allow you to. It *could* be considered much later though, as an "extra" feature.
And as @Coderkei says, performance should be good, especially when you use good SD cards, the bag issue in DPP has been proved in the Discord Server to be caused by certain SD card brands, the same for the Sonic Rush Adventure intro. Some users can't even reproduce the slowdowns in both cases.
