We don't want to introduce speedhacks as it may break some games in unexpected ways. The main focus of pico-loader is to run the retail games as close as the original cartridges allow you to. It *could* be considered much later though, as an "extra" feature.
And as @Coderkei says, performance should be good, especially when you use good SD cards, the bag issue in DPP has been proved in the Discord Server to be caused by certain SD card brands, the same for the Sonic Rush Adventure intro. Some users can't even reproduce the slowdowns in both cases.
Well I've tried like 8 different SD cards formatted every way I could think of and its always slower. Sometimes a little bit sometimes a lot depending on the card and how it's formatted. Honestly the inconsistency is the biggest problem. Both my picos are slower than my R4iTT clone in the bag. I can literally line them up side by side on two different DS' and press down at the same time on both. The R4iTT gets to the bottom noticeably quicker. Same save and all.

Thanks for the compability with dspico.
Only problem is I can't seem to boot my roms with nds-bootstrap, screens stay white.
Pico loader works fine. Any idea? I tried with a different sd card and a reformat.

UPDATE: It works when using the flashcard edition instead of the dspico one.

Just to confirm, are you using a DSpico or another flashcart? The DSpico build is specific for the DSpico because the MicroSD card access is handled differently.

Yes, I am using a dspico.
Are you using it on a DSi, 3DS or DS/DS Lite?

Been doing some testing but nds-bootstrap appeared to work fine for me.

Did you check if Pico-Loader worked too? Its genreally the better ROM loader for the DSpico since thats what its designed for.

I am using a modded 3DS. Pico loader works fine. But when using nds bootstrap I get white screens. Also used 2 different micro sd's and redid the setup guide multiple times.

Thanks for confirming, seems to only happen on the 3DS and not the DSi (which is odd since they should act the same) after doing some testing. Will look into why this happens.

The same problem DSI

How is the DSpico set up, does it autoboot AKMenu-Next, or do you run it from Pico-Loader?

And does the DSpico have the WFRU firmware (autoboots via wfru tester) or the Hybrid firmware (DSpico LNH Team icon on home menu)?
autoboot AKMenu-Next and
hybrid firm
note: if i boot unlaunch and load Launcher run ok all way without sd card
edit: i remove twl++ from sd:/ and run AKmenu-Next, its create a folder sd:/_nds/nds-bootstarp!

Thanks for letting know, I have looked and the DSpico version of AKMenu-Next should not even be touching the DSi SD card, the code to access it is disabled.
I want to ensure there is a distinction between the version of AKmenu-next you are using.

Please can you go into AKMenu-Next -> Press Start to show the Menu -> Help & About and show me a pic of the entire bottom screen please?

Also please provide me the link you used to download AKMenu-Next for your DSpico.

AKMenu-Next is lagging horribly on my R4 Gold Pro SDHC. (DSTTi-Demon) I am playing Mario Slam Basketball and the game lags to the point it becomes basically unplayable, the music plays fine tho. I am using a Samsung microSD. I have no clue what is causing it.

AKMenu-Next doesn't actually run the games. It either uses nds-bootstrap or pico-loader depending on which one you have set as your loader. So the issue will be with one of those loaders.

Which game loader are you using?
