I was going to say 'I can't believe this thread from 2011 is still going' but I actually can believe that.

Just got an iPhone 16 and I really like it. I'll be happy with this for a long time I think.

I recently got a Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and I have been very happy with it so far. Very snappy, way more powerful than my previous phone (Pixel 4a), and the inner screen is really useful when I need it and unintrusive when I don't.

My full ‘evolution’ is now as follows:
Nokia 3220 → Nokia XpressMusic 5130 → SONY Xperia SP → ASUS Zenfone 2 500CL → Huawei P9 → Google Pixel 4a → Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold

last year my old phone suddenly stopped getting service from att, so i was forced to "upgrade" to a motorola stylus 2025. bc it was the ONLY phone with a headphone jack & a sd card slot in the store. im literally counting down the days until i can unlock it, so i can root it and delete all the junk google put in there.

iPhone 16 pro, had iPhones since the 3g version, can't deal with Android, although the option to sideload stuff is much easier on an andriod

PinePhone Pro, AKA low spec but well-supported Linux phone. Beginners and impatient users beware.

Looking forward to Jolla's upcoming offering, J2, as it's probably going to become de facto Linux phone.

Android is enshittified at an alarming rate, iOS is a walled garden of greed and lies. I hardly use phones at all, so choosing the third option was the obvious choice for me. I would say that J2 could work for anyone who isn't already addicted to their phone, or is willing to reduce expectations in favour of breaking the status quo.

I used to religiously use the non-pro PinePhone as my main mobile phone for over 3 years! But I moved on at this point, I don't really have the patience for it anymore.

Traded in my Pixel 7 for a Pixel 10a and paid the rest, the 10a isn't that different than 9a although if you didn't get the 9a it's a pretty nice phone.

It still has bezels though they're smaller, I'm guessing on 11a they'll be nearly gone.

I'm not sure if I'll buy another Android phone as Google's potentially locking up the OS. 😕

Please don't do it, Google.
