Hi I'm trying to remove Parental Lock on a Switch 1 console. I don't know the PIN code.

I'm in the UK. The Youtube guides I've watched are all USA channels who advise to;
1) Enter an incorrect pin 6 times;
2) Go to the help screen and write down the master key;
3) Go to official Nintendo's American website for parental controls and enter your serial and master key
4) Pay half a dollar for an unlock code.

Point 4 is where I cannot progress. I am in UK. I therefore have no way of paying for this as its only for American customers.

Does anybody know if Nintendo has a UK equivalent of this service where I can pay an equivalent fee in UK currency? I cannot find anything on the Nintendo website

The only option I can find on Nintendo's website is to send a message to Nintendo's customer service who have not responded.

Have you tried a key generator like https://mkey.salthax.org/? Or just enable foreign transactions on your card.
thanks I've had a look at the link. In order to do it though, the website states I'd need to know if my console is;
  • Switch 1.0.0 -> 7.0.1: all regions (v3)
  • Switch 8.0.0 -> 14.1.2: all regions (v4)

How would I know if my Switch is one of these?

Not sure if salthax would work for you if you are above 14.1.2, as for what you can try for #4 is use a vpn if you have an us Nintendo account.

But how do I know if it's above or below? I don't know what these numbers mean. All I have is the serial number on the white sticker at the bottom of the console; but the website says this is not related to the serial number

High chance it is above unless it is like haven't updated for years.

Go to the settings on your Switch, go to the system section and find the option that shows your system version. I don't have it in front of me.
