Hi so i've been wrestling against modding a friends wii. I've modded my wii to perfection and it workds great and in trying to replicate the package to my friends wii has been giving me issues.

I managed to install hbc/d2x/usbloadergx but any time I attempt to launch a game from usbloadergx it just freezes on the image/cover art of the game.

at first thought maybe it was the hdd. so I took MY hdd and plugged it into friends wii and this time it starts then just cycles back into usb loader gx.

So i looked into reloading the cios again via d2x and did but then I go back to homebrew channel and its empty... I'm like wtf??? plug sd card into pc and its corrupted or something showing that i need to format the sd card again. strange...

I take my own sd card and try usb loader gx. same result the game either freezes upon clicking cover art of a game or it pretends to load then kicks me back to usb loader gx.

did this 3 times (in the time writing this I tried with a 4th sd card/micro sd combo... the wii corrupted that to.)

What is going on? I didn't know wii could do that first and foremost and is there a way to bypass this by uploading all the apps and stuff via usb only. avoid sd card entirely?

Heres syscheck if that helps.

For testing if it's your sd card or your Wii, did you try a different usb loader or a different version of gx?

Hi. Are you using a microSD or SD card? I recommend securing the microSD card's ejection tab with tape or cellophane so it doesn't move. When inserting and removing the SD card from the Wii, the tab often shifts, causing unpleasant errors when reading and writing data. It's even deleted folders and files on me for that reason. Since securing the tab, I haven't had a single problem. The issue might be something else, but it's worth checking. Cheers.

What I see about your syscheck is, that u don't have bootmii as IOS (it is recommend to have it both boot2 and IOS) and priiloader. (extra brick protection never hurts even if u have bootmii@boot2) U also have unnecessary cIOS but they shouldn't be the cause.

Unfortunalely, I don't know how to fix your issue, but do the corrupted sd cards still cause the issue after formatting them? Also make sure to formatt it to FAT32!

Where are the sd cards purchased from? Sounds like crap cards as they are plentiful, should also verify your sd cards with H2testw.
these are all sandisk 16gb ultra cards. Had bought a few of them from ebay as a lot a while ago for a different project I had. Not microsd but like actual sdhc cards/

Never buy memory cards from unknown sellers. They're probably all fake.

I think i figured out what the problem was. For my wii when i modded it I used something called d2x v10 but on his wii i used v11. For some reason when i used the v11 usb loader gx didn't work but now using the v10 beta53 that was on my card on d2x made all the games on usb loader gx work.

whats up with that :V
