Hi. Does USB loader GX has a "reload cache" option or similar like wiiflow lite? Recently modded my Wii and USB loader GX suddenly stopped recognizing any new GameCube games that I added for some reason. I tried wiiflow and the same thing happened but that "reload cache" option fixed it. There's nothing wrong with wiiflow but I was starting to have fun installing custom GameCube banners in usbloadergx
Hello,

Have you updated GX?

Or, click the fourth icon at the top of the GX menu and select GameCube and Wii games.

Edit: older GX version :)

Hi. I have r1283 so when I go to update it says that there's nothing to update. I don't have that top option bar. Just one at the bottom but it's mostly just sorting options and nothing with that icon. What's that option in English anyway? I have one that says "select game sources" but doesn't do anything much

Oh, excuse me, I made a mistake.
Click on the second-to-last icon in the bottom right corner; you'll be able to select Wii or GameCube games.

Oh. I know what that button does and that's not really the problem. The GameCube games I had still show but any new ones just doent
Your new games are correctly placed on your device
Yes. I used GameCube backup manager that o downloaded following the Wii hacks.guide. if there was something wrong with that would wiiflow still recognize the new games? Just now I added another one and wiiflow detected it

Hello, I have the latest USB Loader GX and latest CIOS but I can't see the Gamecube games I have on USB stick in the correct folder/format. The Wii games show just fine. Am I missing something?

Hello,

Is your game properly installed on your device?

EXAMPLE:

/games/Zelda Wind Waker [GZLP01]/Zelda.iso <--- INCORRECT

/games/Zelda Wind Waker [GZLP01]/game.iso <--- CORRECT

Is there any way to have games show up using both SD and USB as sources? I cannot get Nintendont to see my SD card, but will load games fine from a USB. So I just put the GC games on a USB stick and they load fine directly from Nintendont, but I cannot get both sources to show in GXLoader. Anyone know?

Does anyone know if i can play Black OPs or MW3 with those version on SD Card or does it need to be added with a update in a other version ?

is it possible to boot black ops 1 and MW3 from sd card ?

Yes, you can. Just keep in mind that if you wanna play Black Ops online, you gotta run it from a USB

Hi everyone, I had a question regarding the feasibility of a potential feature. Would it be possible to implement a loading delay to match the read speed of the OEM disc drive?

Admittedly, I'm sure it's a feature most people using the application for playing games would have little interest in, nor do I have an understanding of how the IOS processes work so for all I know it might not even be something that's possible. I'm just looking for the convenience of USB loading and minimizing the strain on the new drive I installed while still retaining the feel of the original experience (as well as keeping my options open for speedrunning practice).

My apologies if this has been brought up before and already answered. I've spent time over the last few days looking into the matter and only found one other person looking for this particular function (in which no answer was given). Anyway, thank you for all the work going into this project and take care!

with the new update that removes the Priiloader shortcut, how can I make it where EmuNAND boots back to the real NAND when I leave a NEEK game from it?

Is this a good place to report bugs? If not let me know where.

r1283 is crashing my Wii U when I try to exit a Gamecube game. I was using r1281 no problem and upgraded to r1283. At first I thought it was Nintendont, which I also upgraded to 6502, but using Nintendon't directly doesn't crash the console. I downgraded back to r1281, no crashes. I then tried a clean installation of r1283 (just what comes in the zip file) to make sure it wasn't something in the settings or something incompatible from my usbloadergx folder, and it still crashes.

Is this a known issue? I can't be the only one. Is there a fix or should I stay in r1281 until r1284 comes along?

Many thanks.

My bad. I normally use a GC controller, but I just tried using a Wiimote with a classic controller attached and when I pressed the home button it taken me back to the loader

It's hard to debug issues like this, when it works for me with 2 different HDD enclosures and on both a Wii and vWii.
When you say it takes you back to the loader, what do you mean? Back to Usbloadergx?

It has never worked like that to me. When I was using r1281 it took me to the Homebrew Channel. Nintendont takes me to the Homebrew Channel. r1281 takes me to the Homebrew Channel. r1283 crashes the console. Could I be having this problem because it's designed to go back to a forwarder and I'm not using a forwarder? I launch usbloadergx from the Homebrew Channel.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to get it to a point where reads and writes perfectly align with a real disc drive and NAND flash. And I know that if it's not perfect then any speedruns would likely be removed under analysis.

I've never been able to get NEEK to work correctly, so I can't come up with a solution for you. But is there a reason you're still using NEEK? The loaders built in EmuNAND options are superior now.

Yes, it's a known issue. Although, I don't recall if the issue only occurs if you don't have the forwarder channel installed with the loader configured to return to USB Loader GX.

The issue has been fixed for the next version of the loader, which I'm actively working on. However, it may be a little while before I release the update, since there are quite a few changes that need to be made and thoroughly tested.

the new version USBLoader GX r1283 plugin mod ,i cant fix the new theme so,i use the old theme!thanks
This is misleading, since it's not really USB Loader GX r1283 at all.
  • It uses the background from r1282+ while using the layout from older versions of the loader
  • English text isn't displaying spaces correctly
  • SD card mode doesn't work
  • Some buttons don't behave how they should
  • The credits screen is outdated
  • The application itself isn't tagged as unofficial, which it should be
  • It contains dozens of bugs that I've fixed over the years
So this is basically USB Loader GX r1262 with only a few of my changes applied on top. And you didn't share the source code or a diff file, which is required.

The plugin mod was unfinished and pretty janky, which is why it was abandoned a decade ago. So if you really want to use plugins, you'd be better off using WiiFlow or creating single ROM loader WAD files that you can install to an EmuNAND.

you are right,i just delete it, I am not a professional programmer, I just like USB Loader GX for its simplicity and straightforwardness. I have been using its plugin mode, but it hasn't been updated, so I try every way to make it work and keep the latest features. If it offends many people, I apologize here.

Yeah, I just confirmed it by installing the forwarder. The 'Return To' option only changes what Wii games do when you press Home and select Wii Menu, but no matter what is set to, the Gamecube games will always look for the forwarder.

(Like if I have it set to return to the Homebrew Channel, Wii games return to the HBC and GCN games return to USBLoaderGX. If I have it set to OFF, Wii games return to the Wii Menu and GCN games return to USBLoaderGX.)

I will keep the forwarder from now on, but thank you very much, I can finally install Priiloader!
