I appreciate that you have good intentions, but things get made / ported when a developer wants to do it, not due to money incentive.

10$ isn't even 15 minutes pay for most developers and barely pays for lunch. Not trying to insult what you're offering, especially as you're offering this out of your own pocket and not a million $ company, just trying to temper expectations.
Incorrect. It's almost like you've never heard of a bounty.

Hello gentlemen
there are ladies here too, although generally, I think you're correct :D

Banjo Kazooie PC Recomp - 10$
the people with the skills to do this, $10 won't convince them to do it - not even from "poor" countries where $10 will have more meaning
I think you'd have better luck with $750

Or they can port it at their own time and get 10 USD for coffee :-)

But seriously if enough people join we can add up to more enticing bounties. How much would you chip in?

Name one app developed for the switch as a result of a bounty.
You clearly know nothing on this subject and were not around when homebrew/emulators came to the Switch. People pooled their money together, request specific emulators be ported & a developer came along and claimed that bounty. Gbatemp themselves even did bounties. Again, you know absolutely nothing on this subject.

Okay, you're clearly are far more knowledgeable than me on the subject matter. Let me know when this unicorn developer arrives for a 15$ paycheck for days of work.

Fwiw, gbatemp bounties did not result in homebrew being made. The bounty was largely funded by TX, which put off a few devs from even entering. Also, DZ and the winner pplay were already long in development before the bounty was public. But of course you already knew this, right?

Again, I didn't say these ports won't happen, but if they do happen, it won't be due to money incentive. Unless it's a considerable amount of course.

I think there's nothing wrong offering small bounties at the start when the big amounts start to rack up with more contributions anyway. Vita bounties seem to be organised a bit loosely much like this thread proposes. Considering the activity since just yesterday, I think this has a good chance of succeeding!

And for the record, Vita bounties did seem to greatly accelerate porting endeavours, so I see no reason why this initiative wouldn't.

Thank you. If you have any suggestions, please go ahead :-)

In all honesty I see nothing wrong with offering, whatever the reality may or may not be.

Personally I haven't seen many bounties, let alone come full circle... specifically in nintendo scene since the Wii, but there may have been some I'm unaware of.

Most things are done for free by dedicated fans who happen be devs or become hobbyist devs. Long live the community ✊🤪 but there is obviously a shit load out there that mean a lot to people that don't get the attention popular titles do.

As i said earlier tho, if you don't ask you don't get. None of the offerings particularly float my boat (playing i mean, I'm not a dev!) but good luck with it man. 👍

Thanks! My post has been deleted by mods on reddit but I take that more as a badge of honor if anything. Anyways - what would you like to see? There are some interesting things available

I'll give $60 for a decent port of 'Aleph One' the Marathon 1/2/3 source port!

If such thing does not exist anywhere thats tough luck. You should choose something that is already existing and open source
:)
