firstly go this website (sorry i cant give the link im a new user)

Then click on "Create and manage your app passwords"

make your app name such as "ps vita" or whatever you would like

then click create and it will give you a password (DO NOT CLICK DONE UNTIL THE PASSWORD IS ENTERED INTO VITA)

open up your ps vita Email app then click gmail, now enter in your email address and then copy the password from the google website into the password box and it should work.

if youre having trouble pls explain step by step what you did in this thread

I'll believe it when I see screenshots of Gmail working in Vita's email app, with new emails on or after the date of this thread.

Worked, thanks!!!

Nono it works just fine. You choose "Gmail" when it asks to setup a cloud account, put that password and it works! It even syncs your Google Contacts.

Thanks. Guess it went the route that Sony did with Device Passwords on Vita. But now I have to find someone with a PC around here or someone I'd trust with my Gmail login. Not even Mom. But glad this is possible.

Holy shit I remember this guy, funny username but it worked against him.

And this cat got G-Mail to work? I'm trying it right now!

Huh, so it works. Complete with a dynamic LiveArea count of messages (Inspiring Dev possibilities). Unfortunately I had to setup 2FA, which I hope doesn't haunt me as I have no smart phone.

alright, do you have restrictions on your account whatsoever?

u can try this link idk if it will work https://myaccount.google.com/apppas...Sul9CJSYncxoKiQYQY6yBi2PbCdUmCcE0sszd8splSgbI

but most likely you have restrictions on your account

Hello! Through my very extensive smart brain, you firstly have to go to 'Manage your Google Account" by clicking your icon profile

Screenshot 2026-08-11 at 3.43.24 PM.jpeg

then go to "Security and Sign in" and click "2 Step Verification" and enable it (im pretty sure there are something you have to do after that).
go to this link: https://myaccount.google.com/apppas...dyuuPgs0Z6XdTVN9yzCrQUub3_28qN_UKRdxP2g&pli=1 , create a passkey, name it whatever you want like the top comment said, but don't click done. Enter your information in the email app in your PS Vita and enter that randomized password, be sure it is correct before clicking done for you cannot see it ever again.
Hopefully this helps and if anyone is still confused, im sorry about my bad sentencing

I've had it set up for 3 years and it works fine for gmail. I still get notifications for it constantly.

Even if Google shuts down the endpoints the Vita mail app uses there's always IMAP and SMTP. Which I use anyway as I self host my own providers too.
