Hacking Homebrew How to tell if a Wii was previously homebrewed?

I got my hands on a red Wii that looked completely stock but there are some things that make me skeptical. The sync button works but doesn't make a click sound and I found a sticker on the GameCube ports that said "100% RF", no idea what that means.

On the software side of things, the first time I turned it on it showed the setup screen and I didn't seem to find any traces of homebrew on the system, but I believe there is a chance that it was homebrewed and then a system factory reset was performed on it.

Is there a way to check without having to install any type of homebrew? I'm not against modding it but to my knowledge wiping a Wii without removing homebrew first is not a good idea and can lead to problems so I want to be careful on it, thank you.

Perhaps a radio chip was replaced. I've heard of Wiis having radio fail and need replacing, bluetooth chip or whatever.

Update: I remembered about holding RESET on startup to check for priiloader and there it was, so it was definitely modded and then formatted, I guess I'll just start the whole modding process from scratch with modmii.

RF probably means Region Free so they enabled region free patches in Priiloader. Maybe that's all they did.

I couldn't access the hacks because of a missing file (probably caused by formatting), and when I updated priiloader I read something about the settings being reset so I guess that's one theory, I did find more pictures online of the same sticker but still no info.

This. Already went with starting the modding process from scratch with modmii and everything went well and no issues showed up so it doesn't really matter anymore.

Honestly what I would do in this case is install the Homebrew Channel and run SysCheck to see what (c)IOS are installed on the system. After that, you know exactly what needs to be (un)installed for everything to work correctly.
As a nuclear option (one that I regularly do for fun but don't actually recommend), you can dump the NAND with bootmii and basically generate a completely new, virgin NAND backup and start completely fresh from there.

I already updated everything so I don't think it would make a difference at this point
Also I know about the NAND virgin backup method but this Wii is not a boot2 one so if anything goes wrong it will be a pain to fix.
