Hacking Cannot figure out updating my old switch. Atmosphere 1.10 gives blue screen when booting CFW.

So I am following this guide here (https://switch.hacks.guide/extras/updating.html)

I updated Atmosphere 1.10.1 and hekate 6.4.2. My switch is a little ancient. its still on OFW 11.0 lol

After updating both, whenever I try to boot into CFW I just get a blue screen. I tried restinalling everything. That didn't work, I tried the pre-release patch of Atmosphere 1.10.0. The only thing I haven't tried is a fresh fresh install of my SDcard. I'm scared I just don't know what Ill lose lol.

Afresh install will likely solve all your problems.
Wrong atmosphere/hekate versions and outdated system modules can cause this blue screen behavior.
Also when the primary payload is not the same as the version of atmosphere/hekate on your SD card, things can get funky.

The best step forward is first to make a backup of your SD card.
Keep the nintendo folder and move everything else to a temporary folder.
You can use an all-in-one package like HATS or just get hekate/atmosphere from the official repositories.
If your a pirate, then you need sigpatches too. They are here on the forum somewhere in a dedicated topic.

You need to update fw to use latest atmosphere and also use all new homebrew as old versions wont work with latest fw & atmosphere.

How do i go about updating the OFW? I blue screen when I try to go into CFW. the last time I updated OFW was through daybreak? i think thats what I used, but 100% used CFW to update the OFW

You use daybreak to update emuMMC and normal update method on sysMMC.
