BootROM keys for the PlayStation 5 have leaked online

A surprise to ring in the New Year was the discovery of what could potentially help lead to developments in the PlayStation 5 hacking scene. Internal files from Sony have leaked onto the internet, which includes "Level 0 BootROM keys" for the PS5. These keys are instrumental in understanding how the PlayStation 5 operates, and could also be used to decrypt the PS5's bootloader. As it stands, since they exist on a hardware level, there's nothing Sony can do to patch away the vulnerability of the keys being readily available online. However, while useful to have, PlayStation scene member Jose Coixao stressed that this by no means guarantees an easy hack for the PS5, since there's still plenty of other work involved in being able to exploit a console. Time will tell if those within the scene can make any headway with the discovery of these keys.

Urgently need that BootROM keys leak for a..
Nintendo Switch 2!
The same attack vector is not going to work for the Switch2 because the bootrom is inside the APU/CPU.
The PS5 uses an external bootrom, which was used to derive the bootrom keys.

I'd just be happy to have native PS5 fpkg support with Goldhen ported and be rid of Kstuff and Itemzflow and have it like PS4 does with it's kernel patches.
Its pretty much like that now, etaHen supported and cheats, Homebrew Launcher to boot your games off the HomeScreen.

I suspect that Sony will scramble to change the keys so all PS5 units produced a few months from now will have new keys limiting hacks to people who own a PS5 with the old keys. Not sure if the PS5 will be worth owning after the Steam Machine comes out.
Once you have Keys its pretty much game over, like on the PS3, Sony could change them, but once you know, you know, you'd easily be able to resign, backport, import/resign saves (depending on how much info they actually have).

As for SteamMachine lmfao a low end over priced PC to have its own storefront linked to it..... ohhh how that reminds me of the Deck with poor compatibility and unverified games which is funny, their store, their hardware..... cant even tell you if it can run game or not...... unless its an old game.

Sorry but id rather have a console or just build my own PC that ill know will run anything thrown at it.

I do wonder one thing tho, unlike Microsoft whose always delayed at everything, will Valve be pushing PC as a gaming market, so that PC starts getting exclusives like consoles.

Because its silly with the hardware PCs can have over consoles, the PC master race should have been having this gen console quality decades ago.

I mean look at it now, high end could range from 24/32GB GPUs..... im sorry but with resources like this, you shouldn't be getting console ports with options to slightly up its settings.

Don't think much will come from it. Or atleast will take a long time to get something usefull out from it. "IF" the Guys will share there stuff with Communities or keep all Secrets for them self. :ninja:

The keys are useless on their own and won’t even lead to a hack without another exploit

Hopefully it would lead to have save resigner and save management to allow inject someone's save in PS5.
That is already possible with HTOS
