I know this thread is a bit old, but I have a question that might be linked.
There is a japanese WUP floating out there ("Wii Karaoke U Trial Disc") that seems to come from a commercial offer grouping a microphone and the Joysound game evoked in this thread (see here). The file seems huge compared to the eshop version of the Joysound game (>30 times bigger), so it contains probably songs in addition to the base game found in the shop. Has someone tried this one? I'm aware that the 'Trial' word probably implies that the access is somehow limited, but it looks like more a classical game unlocked by DLC (like Project Zero) than a pure online thing requiring to download the songs each time you buy a "ticket"
i only have the digital version with me.
i could try to grab a disc version next time i go to japan.
how many songs do you think that size could fit?

That would include that someone could write the code for such a server after some reverse engineering and as the interest in this forum is close to 0 % that won't happen in time so we should give up about this piece of software.
i'm happy to pay people to do that on the japanese version.
if there's any genius out there.

I´m sure such disc has some song files, if someone gets the WUP or disc we could try extracting it

Ok I downloaded the trial disc and installed it on my Wii u and it says this so. Idk if it's byassable

Translation:
This disc is
NintendoxJOYSOUND Wii Karaoke U music disc.
You cannot play with this disc alone.
Press "Exit" from the HOME button menu to return
to the Wii U menu and start Nintendox JOYSOUND
Wii Karaoke U.
For one month (31 days), you can sing your favorite 50 songs from the 10,000
songs recorded on the disc as many times as you like.

...So I think the trial's either run out, or you need the digital version too

if only i had a disc or if there was a way to fix it, if anyone wants to try its available here https://archive.org/download/wii-u-retail-game-disc-nus-format

This thread It's very old but I'd like to put it back on the top of the list in the hope that someone will find the interest in allowing the community to play this game again. It seems Pretendo has no intention of doing anything about it, this dark thread from 2016 is my only hope

Has anyone got Karaoke working on the Wii U? I see some configs for the vWii, but few threads on the WiiU.

bumping this thread too because I've seen stuff related to a JOYSOUND exclusive machine being only made for this and having lots of DLC installed locally here

I got a physical trial disc and it seems to work fine!
It seems to somehow register the disc to the Wii U, preventing it from use on other consoles, so I'm not sure how one would be able to bypass the 30 day/50 song limit. But it does indeed work and there are indeed 10,000 songs on the disc.

So basically you can choose 50 out of 10.000 songs for 30 days and then it stops working? There must be a way to reset the timer

is there a way to dump the disc contents?

That's what it says, yes.

I tried wiping the game save data but it seems that it did indeed remember that this console was registered and that I had 49 songs remaining (having played one before wiping).

is there a way to dump the disc contents?
I believe a dump already exists, people above presumably already got them.

There is no dump for this game. At least not with a working 30 days trial and 50 out of 10.000 songs on it. This makes you the legend in "I am legend".
I doubt it that you can reset the timer by wiping the data. You could go inside the game data and looking for something like a timer with a tool called FTPiiu, but if you don't know what you are doing you might brick your console.

When I bought my used wii u console some years ago the game was already installed, but without the trial option. It was completely useless so I deleted it.
Just wondering what happens if you dump your still active trial version for others.

The thing that is confusing to me is that there should be no way for the console to write to the disc, so I don't know how exactly they enforce the "use on one console" thing.

I'm currently on holiday but I'll look more into this once I'm back.

Maybe it's a mistranslation and they meant it more as a "you can't get a new disk to re-activate the trial"

Maybe? I thought the intended meaning was indeed "this can be used on one console ever".
一度起動すると他のWii U本体からこのディスクは読み込めなくなります。> "Once started, this disc cannot be read by other Wii U consoles."

But the back of the box says "Wii U本体1台に、ディスクは1枚のみ有効です" >" Only one disc is valid per Wii U console."

The latter would certainly make more sense since it shouldn't be possible to write to the disc itself, which would be the only way to truly verify that the disc is only being used once. Otherwise the only other way would be to log console uniques online or something, and the Wii U joysound servers (not to mention Nintendo online play itself) have been down for years.

I'll try to acquire another trial disc that doesn't have the trial activated (these are actually not as uncommon as you'd think), but my working theory is that it's based on system save data (which, of course, we can manipulate).

How did you get the game running like this? I have the trial disc installed and the EU version of Wii Karaoke U that I downloaded from NUSpli, but it doesn't let me play any of the songs. Would you be able to help me?
