"Metroid Prime 4: Beyond" leaks one day away from release

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond review - Playing the hits - Hypertext

As it's almost the case with every big Nintendo release, the next big upcoming title from Nintendo, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, has been leaked online ahead of release. However, the leak didn't come in a date that many people expected.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is set to release tomorrow, December 4th, for both Nintendo Switch 1 and Nintendo Switch 2, with the Nintendo Switch 1 version of the game having leaked online today. However, in contrast with previous big Nintendo releases, this leak came just a day prior from the official release of the game, while previously, huge Nintendo releases were known to be leaked several days, if not weeks ahead of release, making the title available through unofficial means, and for others, being a source of early spoilers for people that were looking forward to the official release date to experience the game for themselves.

The game also received a recent 1.1.0 update, which seems to be a day one patch, with the patch also being available online already.

Remember, that direct links to ROMs or any kind of illegal copy are not allowed, so discuss the title with the previous warning in mind.

Outside of the main article, it's interesting to take a look at this particular case and research why it wasn't leaked earlier, since it's widely known that several places broke street date and they had the game available before hand, and the same goes for people that got their copy early.

It's a good point of discussion and one that has me intrigued, what's different from this release compared to the others?
Could the take down of some key websites on Switch piracy have been the turning point for it not leaking earlier?

Had to get 1 more out before the Switch generation ends. Going to be interesting not seeing this anymore lol.

I assume only the Switch 1 version got leaked since.. well... pretty much all SW1 games get leaked lol
I mean Switch 2 version straight up can't be leaked lmao. No way to decrypt Switch 2 data.

I won the bet, but the real jackpot, is for those who collected all their games before the final game was released!

Using a 1.5 TB Sandisk and got the entire Exclusive collection and others installed.

Switch Collection complete. Metroid Prime 4 was the final piece, and I'm not sorry about it.

Now they can stop updating the systems so much, trying to destroy atmosphere, right before every release lol.

I hope everyone who got it, enjoys it and knows this is the last Exclusive game, coming to Switch 1.

True, True

This is very much going to be an "end of an era" in terms of Switch games being leaked any amount of time from launched, especially since there really isn't that many *big* games for the original Switch still coming out as any real portjobs to Nintendo's consoles are going right for the Switch 2 now simply so they don't have to work with S1's specs, and the S2 is clearly an iron fortress of security so any "Leaks" from here on out will be just early physical shipments coming out.

Well everyone will be waiting on the Switch 2 Emulator in 2026 and we'll be back on the road again! lol

And Nintendo's best friends will be in the forums watching!

Honestly, yeah. My biggest thing with pirated games is that it kinda sucks the fun out getting it for free. Not that I want to give a company my money, but I don’t feel like I’ve earned that experience when it comes to new games.
