Without any previous notice and out of nowhere, an Xbox Series version of the Silent Hill 2 Remake has appeared online through the official Microsoft Xbox Store in various regions.

Right now, the game has an entry for US stores, but without an actual price tag and only showing the message "Not available separately". However, the Australian store does include a price tag for the base game, being at $49.97 AU, while the Deluxe Edition of the game goes for $57.47 AU. The game is also available for purchase in a bundle alongside "Silent Hill f", with both bundles offering a standard Dual Pack and a Deluxe Dual Pack as well.

Many considered the game would have been unveiled in the recent Xbox Partner Preview from today, but it wasn't featured.
It's still unknown if the game will be properly announced by Microsoft or any of the official Xbox accounts later today, or in the spawn of the weekend.

This also seemed to have fueled some rumours about a plausible upcoming Silent Hill 2: Born From A Wish DLC, but there has been no official word from Konami about any potential DLC for the game.

Well if you've not played it by now, chances are, you didn't intend to, as you can do so far cheaper and without having to buy another over priced Nintendo console.

And this is why I don't play Xbox, because it offers nothing I can't already play on my PS, as PS has better exclusives, and I think halo and gears of war should have ended on the 360 and MS are getting worse making remastered remasters of their remastered games....

I'm fascinated by this response, especially since other tempers have given the remake a glowing review. How did they make the game boring? Granted, I wouldn't consider the original as intense as Devil May Cry, but the original SH2 is definitely a classic.

Honestly I love my Xbox and have a large library leading back to the OG Xbox days that are still BC, and my digital library is over 700 games, so I wouldn't say they offer nothing!
Plus I can play complete series on one platform, including all 3 Crackdown Games, Entire Gears Series and Remasters, all the Halos, All the Mass Effects, Entire Dead Space series, etc! All the NFS Games, even the ones delisted, I can play on one platform.

Each system has their ups and downs, my Steam collection obviously is the strongest with 1020 games and over 789 DLCs.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, I just didn't get that same excitement, probably because I've played so many titles, it takes a lot to entertain me now with gaming!

And nothing about that game, scream evolution or new, etc.

i am always amazed at how the richest country in the world gets the best prices on shit too.

most people dont realize how much prices change based on geographic location. its how some of the magazine companies back in the day used to make major loot. they would post up and purchase in cheap zones advertising in the US and other markets that cost more.

Americans have always footed a higher bill then most other countries. stuff like this points out why the next war is economic and when the bar drops the fighting will turn to rich people buying living in geographic safe spaces like this.

I can respect that. I'm curious because I'm a huge fan of the original, and this remake was made from the ground up with a different team. I thought you might have specific opinions on how the original was reinterpreted.

You know, segments being elongated, cutscenes going on for too long, movement speeds being slower, weapons being less effective, and so on.

If I ever get out of my study loop, I may give the remake a try, but the original will always be the most memorable for me.

only the new silent hill games on xbox are very cheap ... everything else is the same price.

I’ve played the original silent hill 1 - 4 games thoroughly when they were first released. I think these Remakes are fantastic for the younger players that have never played them before but for the old school gamers it doesn’t warrant playing them again or buying them because all that scary gaming that came from these classics isn’t worth revisiting

I can play all my older titles,on their console.

Point is, you buy new consoles to play new games, having BC is nice, but its not what you buy it for when you own the older systems.

MS are getting worse, like nintendo,remove the 3rd party titles that come to all platforms, MS offer very little but the same crap thats boring now and should have ended on the 360.

Yet as said, theyre remastering the same games allover again just says it all.
