  • Friendly reminder: The politics section is a place where a lot of differing opinions are raised. You may not like what you read here but it is someone's opinion. As long as the debate is respectful you are free to debate freely. Also, the views and opinions expressed by forum members may not necessarily reflect those of GBAtemp. Messages that the staff consider offensive or inflammatory may be removed in line with existing forum terms and conditions. Saying NO to fascists/nazis - if you are one of those, you are not welcome here
Yep. Mine got deleted not for the content of my post, but because of quoting what is now a deleted post, which is the norm for this place. If I hadn't quoted them, mine would have stayed up.

It's the mod norm for most every place. I'll admit my question to DinohScene was a bit snarky, but really the "it's different when it's with a post" should only apply when the text that was posted is saying something additional to what the image is there for. That's hardly ever the case, and throwing a few words into the post as a workaround proves it's a distinction without significance. But it's all good. I've been here for 20 years and I'm well familiar with how moderation of this section of the board has evolved over the years.

So kind of exposing what everyone already knew: You can dress up a fat racist hillbilly in a suit, but they're still a fat racist hillbilly.

There's talk about:
-Killing
-Racism
-Sexism
-White supremacy
-Loving Hitler
-Calling rape "Epic".
-Calling others obese, when they're all clearly obese themselves.
-Gloating about using their group's money on themselves for Ozempic, balding cream, vacations, and massages.

These types of chuds are the future of the GOP, and their level of vileness is beyond what most could imagine. These specific dorks will be removed because they were caught, and they'll be replaced with different dinguses who have the same views, but haven't been caught yet.

As I've said multiple times here, the US is rotting from the inside. The right has zero desire to vet who they put into power anymore, and they seem to elevate the worst and most uneducated people in their own states.

I'm sure we'll see some people come out of the woodworks and say "Oh, I'm sure YOU'RE so pure! I'm sure that you have a chat with friends that's just as bad as this!". No, normal people don't.
Literally just ignore them instead of calling attention to them, that's what they want.

Sorry, no. Gotta shine a light on an infection or else it feeters.
Sorry but that just makes it grow. Just how it works, they crave attention.
It's literally intended to wear everyone down and then show off how crazy and intolerant 'the libs' are.

If you want to shine a light, report it and don't respond to it. Then everyone can see who is being a dickhead and who is keeping things civil.

I miss when politics was about different ideas to keep things moving, now it seems to be whether we should normalize hurting people.

That's been the entire objective of ICE since it was founded, it was inevitable that someone unhinged like Trump would come along and abuse that power. Should've been abolished long ago.

So, let me ask you a question ... not just you but anyone else here, especially those who actually believe the Democratic party is in the USA is "right wing," ... would you rather have several conservative-minded persons in here to confront your assumptions with counterpoint, or not? Just like the leftish members here, some will be good at arguing, and some will be dunces. Some will be moderate in their lean, while others will be downright extreme and obtuse to reality. Everyone gets to have a good debate, take their best shot at rebuttal, maybe get some perspective on how 'the other half' thinks .... or not. What's your preference, really?

Be honest about this. Don't be like the hypocritical members here who openly post that one or another conservative poster "doesn't really want to argue in good faith" or some such lame baloney, while at the same time they push that person to 'just leave,' smear them with filthy names and insults, and report them in an attempt to get them banned at every opportunity. That's the reality here for anyone who dares to ever disagree with the circle-jerk.

So, do you want debate? Or do you just want to have a room where you can all puff and slobber on each other about how great you all are, and how everyone else is a Nazi?

I'm serious.

Center-right, and there is no coherent counterpoint to that. Capitalism still comes first in the Democratic party, everything else second. AOC and Bernie Sanders are the exceptions that prove the rule, but even they aren't pushing full-on Socialism, just something akin to the social democracies of Scandinavia.

As far as allowing conservative-minded people here, I'm fine with that so long as they can keep their heads screwed on straight, but that's an extreme rarity among MAGA. It takes minimal poking and prodding before they reveal their true beliefs align with the young Republicans who are the topic of this thread. Right-wing libertarians (in the US) have proven themselves to be hypocrites when it comes to opposing authoritarianism as well. Which pretty much just leaves a scattered few conservative individuals from Europe as capable of being a voice of reason any more. Foxi4 being an example of that, even if there's plenty I still disagree with him on.

Beyond that, I'm fine with this remaining a mostly left-leaning space, since there is no shortage of spaces dedicated to harboring right-wing absurdity out on the web at large. Twitter, Facebook, 4chan, "Truth" Social, the list goes on and on. Wherever conservative ideas are unpopular, they always try to force their way in or buy out the platform anyway.

I challenge you to make a counterpoint to the thread topic.

The mods have had to clear out many that were not keeping their heads screwed on, so it seems pretty valid when it comes to this area of the GBATemp.

The mod who cooperates with you is of your ilk. So not exactly making a point there.

It seems you guys don't want to answer the question. Either you welcome disagreement here, or you don't. Answer the question.

Still a qualified response.
It's not, if you want every "conservative" voice in general to be allowed here, the answer is an unequivocal no. There is no reasonable or good faith debate to be had with those people, and Americans would've lost the Revolutionary War if as many turncoats were lurking around back then.
