playing Xbox games on Xbox 360 with badupdate

I am trying to play JSRF on my Xbox 360 that runs on badupdate. i don't know where to put the ISO, if i should convert the ISO to a different format... i've been looking around for hours and can't find anything. thanks in advance! (edit: forgot to add prefix, sorry. still getting used to gbatemp)

There's a tutorial for this on consolemods site. Check here. You need a hard disk in your XBOX 360 to do this. Basically, you just install some emu files, and then with a script, you choose which one to use before launching the game. Works nicely. MrMario on Youtube has a good tutorial for this also. It's linked on Consolemod's page. As for extracting the iso file, it's the same as with regular XBOX 360 isos, just convert with iso2god.

You need to either extract the ISO to JTAG format (https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox_360:Game_Extraction) or convert it to GoD format with ISO2GoD.

Another option is to burn to disc (if you mod the drive firmware) and installing the game to drive using the official dashboard. With cfw these installs can run without requiring the disc. Not much point in going that route though.

It's better to use GOD format than XEX GOD is faster because it's split into less files than XEX

also some mods work in god form just extract to jtag form add/ replace files combine back to xiso (I use qwix for this, then ISO2GOD

Sometimes you will need XEX format - e.g MK Armageddon has no music and some missing sound effects in GoD format but works perfect in file format.

I was trying to get Super Monkey Ball Deluxe running yesterday without any luck (just hung on the white Xbox screen forever). Has anyone gotten this one working? I had the game converted with iso2god on the same USB stick I was using BadAvatar from. Does it need to be on the hard drive, or in loose files?

EDIT: Extracting the files with xdvdfs and running from the USB did the trick.
