Konami is asking gamers which Metal Gear Solid game they want to see remade next

Konami is looking to tease future Metal Gear content, by offering an exit survey for those who tune into Tokyo Game Show 2025. The questionnaire is fairly basic, asking what viewers thought of the Metal Gear - Production Hotline segment of TGS2025. One of the questions, however, is Konami asking fans which Metal Gear games they want to see get remakes in the future, likely in a similar vein to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which came out in August.

This reminds me of when M&M's asked people which of three colors they'd like to see: Purple, pink, or blue.

I think most fans would want to see the original MGS get remade*.

* Without the flare of the Twin Snakes cutscenes.

remake the nes games. remaking the already 3d games seems pointless.

It won't be the same without Kojima. The best they can do is keep remaking the old ones.
Seems to be the culture in general, Dragon Quest 7 is getting it's SECOND remake already

I want to see them remake metal gear 1&2. A.k.a. the msx entries.

It feels like a missed opportunity the final boss fight from metal gear 2 hasn't been (re)done on the fox engine like Konami initially promised at one point or another.

It's already bad enough twin snakes is locked to the GameCube. And don't tell me the PS1 original is fine. It's miserable to try and replay that one now. I was hoping it was twin snakes getting ported entirely for having something more controllable.

to Fukusima, the actual talent.
I've heard about this a few times. I know he didn't write for the series after MGS3, but by then, most of the story had already been told. MGS4 was more about resolving the plot threads and tying everything together. My understanding is that MGSV had a deep storyline, if you listened to all the audio logs, but I merely played the game for the main campaign experience. (Thanks Kojima, I really liked playing through the hospital intro multiple times.)

Let's not forget that unsung hero of the PS1/PS2 Konami era, Jeremy Blaustein.

Oooh yeah, wasn't Phantom Pain or a sequel supposed to eventually snake (lol) back around and retell the original games or something?

The (canon) timeline goes like this.
Mgs 3
Portable Ops,
then Peace Walker
Ground Zeroes,
then Mgs 5
Metal gear (msx)
Metal gear 2 (msx)
Metal gear solid/Twin Snakes
Mgs 2
And finally, mgs 4.

I don't personally consider revengeance canon, imo; even if it's supposed to take place after mgs 4 in the timeline. I feel more like the timeline was an excuse to go as nutty as it does.

And yes, marketing at the time suggested if ground zeroes and phantom pain did well, they'd start with a remake of mgs 1, on the fox engine. Leaving it open to tackling the other entries if interests remain strong. Of course, their method of firing kojima nuked any positive press the games had at the time, which is a genuine shame. Fox engine felt good to troll enemies with.

Wasn't the NES game inferior to the MSX?

Still remember PS3 has the most complete MGS collection yet (no Twin Snakes, though).

Metal Gear Rising (2013) >> All other Metal Gears.

But that's my opinion, all people disagree with me

Is Metal Gear Rising after MGS4? I thought that, at the end of MGS4, Raiden loses his SUPER COOL(tm) cyborg armor. Of course, it's MGS, so it wouldn't take much to undo that bit.. I thought Portable Ops was retconned out by Peace Walker, but it's not a big issue. We know which games are the mainline ones, and it really comes down to which ones you enjoy playing.

Yeah, I thought there was a rumor about Phantom Pain working its way back to the original MSX games, leading to 3D remakes. You know, Metal Gear Money for another 10-15 years.

That's the general consensus. If you have MGS3: Subsistence or the Bluepoint PS3/360 port collection (I believe that includes the Vita version too.), you can play the MSX ones.

Can you remake Sonic Adventure 2
Konami and Sega aren't doing a collab right now, so I'll just have to do it myself.

You're in for a treat, I plan on singing all the songs myself.
