Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection was announced on the latest Nintendo Direct (at least in Japan). Here's everything we know so far:

• The collection is coming to PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
• Coming in 2026 (no release date yet)
• Likely running on the RE Engine, similar to every other Capcom game on current gen systems.
• It will include Mega Man Star Force 1, 2 and 3 along with every single version of these games.
• Due to them originally being DS games, there will be multiple screen layouts to choose in the menu.
• Online multiplayer is confirmed. It will have casual and ranked matches, friends list (AKA brotherbands), as well as trading.
• You have a customizable profile in online mode, which will be diplayed in the versus screen for PVP matches.
• Star Force 1 will have online multiplayer for the first time ever.
• There will be a smooth filter option for the overworld sections. It can be toggled off in the menu.
• The 3D visuals have received an upgrade.
• The in-game artworks are now in HD, this includes every single card.
• New voice clips for Geo and Omega-Xis can be heard in the Nintendo Direct footage.
• The in-game text font in now in HD, similar to Battle Network Legacy Collection, likely because the games are being localized to Chinese (and Chinese characters are pretty much unreadable in the game's original pixel font).
• The brotherband limit has been increased to 100 (it was 6 on DS).
• Similar to previous Legacy Collections, there will be a gallery featuring art and music from all the games included.
• The collection will be playable at Tokyo Game Show. Only Star Force 1 is going to be available at the event, though.

I gave Starforce a try recently, one of the 4 versions of the 1st game at least. When does it get good? I couldn't stomach the 1st hour of the game once let alone 3 more times.

If you didn't like the gameplay, there's no point dragging it on.
Unlike the first BN game, the first SF game was quite good. 2nd was meh, 3rd was the best.
By the way, there are 3 versions of the first game, and you're not really supposed to play them all. 1st game has the least amount of differences between versions iirc. It's like playing both Pokemon versions, you probably wouldn't do that.

But I totally have played Pok'emon Red, Blue, and Yellow together. I don't remember if I encountered any gameplay yet. Just remember laghing at Geo's angstiness with my buddies. By 4th, I meant DX. Maybe you can understand the improvements that went into it, but I figured I'd save it for last to appreciate it more. https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5979/

If they release it, they'll release it then. But otherwise, players had to either resort to emulation or just spend a fortune to get the most out of everything, especially Double Team/Twin Leaders to play on the OG Consoles. Its also worth noting that the intended way to make the most in Twin Leaders is 6 different BN games (BN1 - BN5 and including 4.5) + 1 Boktai Cartridge.

All of these cartridges in total, not including BN5 DS and an actual DS with GBA slot is extremely expensive because of how old and limited existing copies are nowadays. We're talking maybe $2000 at bare minimum. That's really asking a lot for anyone who didn't grew up with a DS to play the intended way. Personally, I feel like it doesn't really paid off for how niche each cartridge provide for the game when you could spend them on new games/consoles unless you truly like those games and had the space in house to accommodate them.

Also on the side note, the team (Eguchi and Yasuma is not involved for this side project) making this Twin Leaders really try to convince you that Party Battle System is a great addition to BN5 but then proceeds to disabled it for Liberation Missions, Dungeons and by that extension, Boss fights associated with them, which is like the major sections of BN5.
