Hello Gbatemp elites,

I have been at it for 3 days now.

i have a wii u with a bad nand.

What i already got

- Micro sd slot is soldered with a durable 32GB micro sd from samsung
- Pico is soldered for defuse
- Dumped OPT and SEEPROM
- Dumped the SLC.RAW with red nand
- extracted the commen key from the opt

I tried rebuildind the nand and flash the micro sd, but the wii u only gives SOLID RED light.

i downloaded the files with

java -jar JNUSTool.jar 0005001010040200 -dlEncrypted

kinda clueless now..

ssolid red means it isn't reaching boot1. So how where you able to dump the otp?

i meant, after my attempt to flash the new build nand. and disconnecting the pic. the wii u wont boot.

I think the method of rebuilding i found is outdated?

that would indicate that you somehow made the boot1 version on the SLC missmatch the version in the seeprom or that you flashed a broken boot1.
Would need to know what you did exactly

1. i soldered the pico
2. i installed defuse on the pico
3. i prepared a front sd card with recovry-menu-dumper- zip from delta island forum, cant seem to add link here because i am new
4. i dumped the opt and seeprom and logs from the wii u
5. i installed the micro sd adapter on the wiiu and formated the new emmc through defuse menu
6. i made a rednand and dumped SLC
7. i tried building a nand through chatgpt and JNUSTool-master, got really confused with the delta guid
8. i downloaded the files from MLCRESTORER and copied the MLC tickets in waffle folder
9. cant get the sd card to start now, i need a 2gb card, i tried formatting FAT on a 4GB micro sd. The one that starts defuse is only 1gb, others dont boot.

All the guides you will need are on gbatemp, you don't need anything from delta island.

Does the LED stay red without defuse? (not powering the Pico)

The Wii U boot0 doesn't support SDHC, so cards over 2GB won't work. You can flash the minute boot1 to slccmpt (restore the boot1_slccmpt.img). Then the minute boot1 gets loaded from slccmpt and you can use any SD card.

Is your goal to recover any saves from the console or just reinstalling it clean?

I didnt find this guide, but now i will follow it. Hopefully i will get this working again.

Yes, stays red, i was trying a wrong sd card with the mlc files, and it did start blinking blue one time.
But it wont start when i have no usb cable on the pico. The pico is still wired with the defuse schematic i found somwhere.

today i will get my normale 2GB sd card, hopefully things will start working.

I removed the old nand and soldered the micro sd adapter and pic in one go, not trying to make a backup of the old nand..
I also tried a new 32gb nand chip, but the size of the ic was different, so allining it with the bga balls didnt go well..

Did you wire the the 3V3 up? That is only for permanent install. Else it's better to not wire it up, so the pico gets only powered by USB.

If the LED stays red without defuse, that would indicate something is wrong with the boot1 on the SLC. Maybe it is broken, maybe it has just a ersion missmatch with the seeprom. If you have a good otp dump, you can try the sync boot1 version in the backup and restore menu. And also note which versions it reports.

i did the sunc boot1 option. and it said it matched.

I am confused. I tried flashing the boot1.img from defuse website on the new 2gb sd card. and now its 1gb.
I cant resize the partition. It gives errors.

It all worked! from a defective 8gb tot now a 32gb model. Its a zelda wii u, so worth all the effort.
Thanks for the great guide and work with all the people involved. This guide and software made it a breeze now.

Happy as can be. Now to reassemble the console.

Thanks gbatemp!
