Hello, it's very quiet in here, I hope you didn't all die.

So, years after letting my waiting list place time out because I didn't have the funds, I just treated myself to a barely used Deck. It's not as heavy as I thought it might be, the dpad position works well, the controls feel quite good but I am tempted by the clicky button mod for the dpad and face buttons. Anyone tried it? Thoughts? Amazon reviews sound pretty positive fwiw.

Downside is removing / peeling the original buttons is almost always destructive. So if you mess up the modding process, you can't go back to using the original ones.

Yeah I read that. I feel it's worth it if the results are good. Have you done it?
I have Dave. It's a tad stressful to replace it especially with removing the adhesive. But if with steady hands and a back-up part for the clicky switch you're good to go.

For me it's worth the swap. But for a novice to mid experienced person it maybe tad stressful to swap out the buttons.

iFixit sells the stock buttons for a reasonable price. When I did the clicky button install, I liked how it felt for the D-pad, but not the face buttons, so I bought some replacement stock face buttons from iFixit and reverted just the face buttons.
