I've noticed that Retroarch specifically, after 20.x released, is experiencing lengthy load times for not only its own menus, but actually loading roms, if I don't do a hard power cycle every couple days.
That's actually unrelated to topic of this thread, listing rom titles is done internally without asking OS to list themI've noticed that Retroarch specifically, after 20.x released, is experiencing lengthy load times for not only its own menus, but actually loading roms, if I don't do a hard power cycle every couple days.
Something like this happened to me once. I fixed it by entering Recovery / Maintenance Mode, then exiting.

Pretty sure it was HOS 20.1.5 or 20.1.0 when i did this (and the AMS version was the one released at the time). But now every time I update, I do this once just in case.Hi ppkantorski,
Thanks for your message!
Which version of the FW and Atmosphere did you have at the time you fixed it by entering Maintenance Mode?
Thanks in advance,
Best regards

No just a change in HOS that leaves less available memoryI have seen a few users mention issues like this with 2.0.x.x, especially the recent latest 20.3.0, which is why I stayed on 19.0.1 firmware. The problem is you cannot open a issue thread like this on the official Atmosphere Github, as I already seen two get ignored and users shutdown in their place, due to them being so anal about piracy, if something is mentioned like DBI.
It could be the internal changes N did and the lesser memory allocation (wild guess) but I have been looking for a solution to this problem before I ever want to update again.

Lol, just realised now, it was one of your posts you made on the Atmosphere Github that got closed.
Battery drain was 19.0Many of these are non issues, like half a second of loading or one max when you click the 'see all titles' icon. Or yes, it seems JKSV takes a few more seconds to load (and not over a minute like I read in the OP), again who cares, for the monthly back up I will make. Compared to the battery drain issue which appeared with FW 18.0, these are quite trivial and should prevent people from upgrading to the latest firmware and atmosphere.
I started with 18.0 for some actually, but I only used it as an example to compare with the issues listed here, which one will barely notice.Battery drain was 19.0
That's entirely dependent on how many titles you have installed and how many accounts you have and how many saves each of them have. People also backup saves more frequently that once a month. Either way, it's been addressed and shouldn't be a problem anymore.Or yes, it seems JKSV takes a few more seconds to load (and not over a minute like I read in the OP), again who cares, for the monthly back up I will make.
No, 20.4.0 didn't change anything in NS.
).I am about to just reinstall all of my games because reinstalling them makes them boot at a normal speed this will take all day.
The same thing happened on my switch after updating from 19. to 20 ...
Definitely slower to show me games icons now ...
Every game takes what it used to.Yea i just reinstalled half of my games and it did not fix the issue games still take forever to load i will try to troubleshoot the problem later maybe it an old sys module or something.Hello worm28 and rudras,
FYI: that behavior is not reproduced in my case, after doing a fresh reinstall of everythingEvery game takes what it used to.
Hope it helps,
