No its the mods. When someone replies to a comment (like I did, your comment/the original comment is shown) so deleting replies deletes the shown comment also.

When someone replies to a comment, it posts the original comment above, as shown above here ^, your comment, so they delete replies because it shows the original post that needs to be deleted.

It's no coincidence that many of these websites and news outlets have all been changing their direction in the last number of years, specifically to push misinformation and conspiracy theories, forming echo chambers in favor of Republicans, all because that's what the owners, the wealthy, want. And those wealthy people have also got their hand in government, which is why they are getting a heavy tax break at the expense of the American people.

Stopping the policing of speech? In what way? Twitter allowing hate speech and incitement of violence from Nazi and right-wing extremists getting their accounts back? Or maybe it's shifting the policing of speech, given that left-wing accounts were getting censored for speaking the truth. Something we can look at showing just how perverted things are getting with the right-wing is Grok. It was meant to "maximize the truth and objectivity", except, that seemed to line up with left-wing ideology rather than his Musk's own views. So he stuck a fork in it, gave it a lobotomy, and then it began idolizing fascism, pushing hate, and even called itself MechaHitler.

I don't see how everything that is happening is "on the bright side" when nothing good is even coming out of this.
