Just saw this in my notifications. It is safe to say there is still heavy demand for DT2-2 / DT1 on Vita to see English patches.

I went ahead and packaged up the tools I created and released them on my Git Hub.

Yuvi-App/DungeonTravelers2-2-Toolkit

Which it can extract and create PCK (archive files) so you can get the files in any format you need. Alongside Extract and Create new TEX files as well.
The tools work on PC and VITA copies of the game, even though the file formats are different I created a convertor to handle that . This should be most of what you need to do a translation. Just remember it's a lot harder than just copying files over (or else I would have done it already). I explain that above and in the readme.

If I only wanna translate the Intferace (Items, Skills, Equipment etc) how does it work?
Do I extract the VITA game, then fix the files and then compress then back into a working VITA PKG game file?

EDIT: Ok I got the program to work, now I just need to wait until DT 2-2 is on a good sale to buy it on Johren so I have access to the english files. Then I can start adjusting the interface for VITA

Just thought I'd bump this thread to let you and anyone else interested in working on DT2-2 know that the game is discounted by 30% for the next week on Johren.

Sadly AQUAPLUS's games aren't likely to go any lower price wise than 30% for a long time (aside from Uta, but even that is rare), so I doubt it'll get any cheaper for now.

It won't come to GOG. AQUAPLUS are refusing to allow Shiravune to release their games on other PC storefronts outside of Japan bar Steam and Johren (which is partly why demand exists for a fan-patched Vita version of 2-2 to begin with)

A 50% discount is more likely, but as i already said, you'll be waiting a while for that.

Would love to see this come to fruition but am broke would love to see a bounty on it sucks so many DRPGs like the labyrinth games or blue Chevalier didn't really in the west for vita

I could, but I don't think I can do it all myself, given i've never attempted a patch before and this will require a lot of time.

A DT2-2 English patch will require:
- Hacking the game to inject the text and assets from the PC version
- Work out how to reformat the text so it reads better (as per what another commenter says)
- Extensive playtesting (this game is absolutely massive, especially the postgame, which would take 150 hours or so)
- All of the above for the 4 DLC dungeons too

Would gladly help someone else if they're able to take it on and hack the game
